Bottle Black/tawny body. Creamy, brownish head, which is mostly diminishing. Malty aroma. Moderately bitter initial flavour, ligthly bitter finish. Lightly to medium bodied.

Bottle. Cloudy. Wheaty mouthfeel, but not enough wheat taste. Boring........

Hazy tan colour, with a weak head. Fine but plentiful carbonation. Clean aroma for a wheat - slightly wheaty, slightly malty. I’d call it American in style as there is no hint of phenol nor ester. Finish is mainly watery. Another half-assed weissbier from Erdinger. I’m so glad I was able to follow this up with my last bottle of Zentrumsbier Weizen, China’s best kept beer secret.

I’m not sure what surprised me more - finding this in Kunming or discovering I’d never tried it before. I guess I just assumed I’d had it. Light tan colour. Hazy. Gentle but insistent carbonation, leading to a thick white head. Aroma is surprisingly light - slight spicy, sweaty yeast note. Fairly light body, even for a wheat. Watery flavour with faint bananas and a dusty yeast note. Sweet, slightly cloying finish with a minty accent. Poor example.

Bottle - chocolate malt aroma. Dark brown and cloudy appearance. Malt and coffee taste - not overpowering, very pleasant. A light dunkel but very nice.

Hmm.....murky yellow/orange colour. Not one of the better hefes I think, no spice, some very weak banana flavour, a bit metallic, and I drank it from the bottle. Enjoyable, but not much.

I can’t express how much this dissapointed me, hefeweizen is one of my favorite styles, and I expected this to taste at least like one of them with some dunkel characteristics. I was damn wrong, this reminded me most of a watered down porter with some really slight hints of bananas/cloves. Oh, well, I guess this isn’t the best dunkelweizen there is.

Tap. Subtle aroma - only slight hint of bananas and cloves. Clear tan color. Flavor nothing special - no distinct flavor other than the carbonation - you can just make out the typical banana/clove flavor if you concentrate. Granted most Kristalls are bland but this is one of the blandest. Okay if you just want a nice smooth beer but not one if you want the distinct Weizen flavor.

An excellent weizenbock that seems to fall off of my radar too much. +++ Sampled from a 16.9 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy dark brown-red color with a huge fluffy brown head. The aroma was sour malt and sweet fruit. The flavor was sour malt, a hint of fruit and a mild wheaty undertone. The sour malt and a hint of spice linger on the aftertaste. This really is a nice beer and already my top weizenbock. Pretty much everything I could ask for in this style.

Cloudy deep yellow color with a typical large white head. Aroma is rather weak but essentially a yeasty citrus. Mouthfeel was creamy smooth as it should. Flavor also a bit restrained.
