Dorpsbrouwerij de Pimpelmeesch was zo’n 20 jaar geleden één van Nederlands eerste craftbrouwerijen, de kleine en lokale brouwerijen die je de laatste jaren steeds meer ziet verschijnen. Dat brouwer Ad Kusters, creatieve man met een scheikundige achtergrond, daarmee een echte trendsetter zou blijken te zijn, wist hij toen nog niet. Hij wist wèl wat hij wilde met zijn brouwerij: mooie, herkenbare bieren brouwen met een constante hoge kwaliteit.

Bottle 330ml. [ As De Pimpelmeesch Chaams Winterbier ].Clear medium to dark brown amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate yeasty, cheese, sweet yeast. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, caramel malt, dark fruit, yeasty, fruity, cheese notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Bottle - Brown sugars and raisin. Clear copper with a decent white head. Sweet brown sugar, raisin and some nice malty sweetness. Long sweet caramel finish.

Bottle shared thanks to Deanso. Pours hazy golden brown with a cream head. Aroma of fruity hops, grapefruit, light pine, caramel malt. Flavour is light moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

Bottle at Chriso going Dutch tasting, 03/07/14. Hazed golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is bready malts, must, spice, dark fruit. Taste comprises bready notes, spice, toffee, dates, dried fruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so.

Craig on Heat Tasting at ChrisO’s. Lightly hazy gold beer, decent pale cream colour head. Airy palate, dry. Fine carbonation. Slightly soapy floralness, light lactose. Light generic fruits. Papery malts underneath. Light dry finish. Messy.

Bottle, 8.5%. Unclear brown/red with floaties and medium tan head. Aroma is malt, yeast, dark fruits, caramel, toasted and phenols. Flavour is malt, yeast, dark fruits, sweet. caramel, little plume, notes of phenols, little vinous and a little bitter.

Bottle. Dark golden with medium sized white head with lots of little bubbles. Grassy on the nose. Lots of fruit, citrus (lemon) but also peach and other stone fruits. Nice light biscuit maltiness. Light sweetness with fresh bitter hop finish. Medium bodied, lively carbonation. Hmmm, very drinkable! Nothing really stands out but I could drink a few of these any day.
