Description

Hazy "dirty" orange color, small head. Sour aroma mixed with overriped bananas and rye bread. Carbonated mouthfeel. Sweetish Finnish mead -like flavor: brown sugar and raisins. In the finish alcohol-bitterness and some hops perhaps. Kind of refreshing sparkly beer, but far from standard "triple".

Hazy dark brown color, small steady coffee head. Sour aroma which has coffee, cognac, mud and plums. Sweetish nutty flavor - chocolate, plums, rye bread, toasted banana and wort. One of those "muddy" abbey dubbels, which are interesting but not very drinkable.

Bottled. Hazy orange colour with small white head. Aroma is glueish and fruity with some slight yeast in there. Flavour is slightly witbierish along with strong cardboard and alcohol. Very boring tripel...

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is malts, salts, hops and some spices. Flavour is salty hops, malts... Reminds a lot of a crappy European Strong Lager, with only some colour added to it, to make it darker. Aftertaste is slightly bockish, sweet alcohol, mixed with malts and slight hops.

(bottle) Slightly hazy amber colour with a mid-sized foamy off-white head. Sweet malty and nutty aroma with floral hops in the background and a touch of liquorice and yeasts. Sweetbitter flavour, medium to light bodied. Light sweet malty initial taste with chestnuts, dry and sweetbitter liquirice-spicy finish, even with a whiff of hops. Another good and quite complex Bock from the Stadsbrouwerij Groningen.
