Description
Four lifelong Oregonians got together on February 13, 2009 and decided that their knowledge of locale and understanding of craft beer could be an excellent starting point for a business. Later that year Hop Valley Brewing had its debut in Springfield, Oregon, but grew too large for its 15-barrel capacity and opened a new 60-barrel brewhouse and taproom in Eugene in 2013. In July 2016 MillerCoors acquired a majority stake of Hop Valley through its Tenth and Blake craft beer and import division. Hop Valley Brewing Company will operate as a separate business unit of Tenth and Blake.

Bottle from The Beer Junction, Seattle
Beautiful color, bright light amber, hazy, with medium sized compact head. The aroma is not expressive, it has some malt and hops but it’s a bit stale. Good body strength, smooth mouthfeel; lean pale malts flavor, again not expressive, with very strong bitterness, woody bitterness too, some resins and not much fruity character.
Disappointing.

Hazy pale blond color. Dry, light, lean, with light cereals flavor and ordinary bitterness; light citrusy touch; light paper feeling.
Too easy.

Sample at the DBLDP on 08/31/2014. Hazy golden color with a medium bone white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, grapefruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of piney hops, citrus and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is a little airy and slightly crisp. Light semi sweet malts, touch of cream. Good hops - nice balance of floral pine and fresh orange. Good tangerine streak runs throughout. Traces of lemon and citric peel. Light finish. Fresh orange and marmalade linger on. Nice one, very tasty and by far the best hop led beer I’ve had from this brewery.

Bottle from Biernavigatie, large sample, served in a shaker. Almost clear golden color, medium frothy off-white head. Aroma of citrus, some cookie, bit grassy, some sweet candy, some mango. Medium bitter in taste, quite some malt. Bit one-dimensional. Slight sharpish in the finish. Medium carbonation, medium body. Average IPA.

Hazy gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and crisp. Light and semi dry pale malts, semi sweet. Medium spicy pine hops with trailing floral sweetness and mild citrus. Finishes light with a floral, bitter and spicy linger. Pretty drinkable but not top notch.

Very hazy gold - amber beer, almost cloudy. Good pale cream colour head. Palate is light and crispy. Light semi dry malts, semi sweet. A modest orange - grapefruit citric hop. Very light hop spice. Crispy finish. Not bad but really wants more hop depth and intensity. Quite drinkable though.

Hazy gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and airy, fine carbonation. The malt is clean, as promised on the label, and is slightly sweet with a touch of cream. Hops are spicy pine. Some drying alcohol aniseed, but no real heat. Touch of citrus before a semi dry finish. Decent and drinkable.
