Fallen Brewing is a micro brewery founded by Paul Fallen, who for years took on experience as a homebrewer. In 2012, as a contract brewery, brewed his first beer on a bigger scale. It was a smoked porter Blackhouse and was developed in collaboration with the brewery Traditional Scottish Ales from Throsk near Stirling. Since 2014 Fallen Brewing has own brewery, where are created unusual, modern interpretations of classic beer styles. Brewing ceased in 2021.
Keg at the bullfinch. Pours murky yellow gold with a thin white head. Aromas of strong tropical fruits and citrus. Taste is tangy fruits and light hop bitterness. Fruity finish. Nice.
Keg at the bow bar. Pours deep amber, nose is caramel, strawberry, honwy, coconut, toffee, stewed fruit, taste is rich, chewy, sweet honey, caramel, coconut.
On cask at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - golden with a thin off white head. Nose - orange and peach. Some caramel. Taste - orange and bready. Honey sweetness at the back. Palate - light bodied, tangy middle and sweetish on the finish. Overall - good high notes but finish too sweet.
On keg at the Bow Bar. Appearance - deep brown with an orange to red shade. Thin head. Nose - whisky and orange. Strawberry and wood. Taste - honey, orange and strawberry syrup. Palate - medium to full bodied with a rich full middle and finish. A little boozy but also a bit roasty which dries it out just enough. Overall - lovely stuff.
On cask at the Bow Bar. Appearance - murky yellow to brown. Creamy white head. Nose - ripe melon and papaya. Tinned peach. Taste - mire tinned and very ripe fruit, mainly stone and tropical kind. No onion note which is great. Palate - close to medium bodied, vreamy middle and gentle measured bitterness. Overall - lovely stuff
On keg at Monty's. Appearance - hazy yellow. Creamy off white head. Nose - orange, dank, fresh sweat and lightly bready. Taste - orange and bread. Palate - light bodied, dry finish. Overall - simple but good.
