Bottle, via the brewery online shop. Hazed, pale copper colour. Firm halo of white surrounds an island. Nose has brown sugar. Belgian yeasty esters. Dried fruit. On top of that there’s a load of vinous and tart fruit. Bit of sweaty, leathery funk. Taste has a light, bready sweetness. Touch of brett bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Fine and foamy carbonation. Touch of tart, bretty bitterness to finish. Liked this. Very out of the ordinary, and probably has some way to go.

Can ordered from Water Into Beer, Brockley. Aroma has dark coffee over rich malts. Pond water light brown. Massive thick foamy off-white head. Medium sour berries. Bitter coffee edge. Underlying hints of sweet malts. Light-medium bodied. Thin but lifted by soft-fizzy carbonation. Long astringent finish. Enjoyable 'fun' stuff. Guess it's an update of the Hale coffee ESB I had a while back.

Panda at home, thanks to Fergus, 29/01/21. Black with a decent tan cap. Nose is dark chocolate, menthol notes, spice, herb, botanicals, good nostril cleanser, tangy dark fruit rinds. Taste comprises chocolate, hint of cold brew coffee, spice, more minted notes, tangy fruit esters. Medium bodied with a little kick, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a kiss of booze. Interesting ... not familiar with Amaro ... can't say I'd revisit as a touch harsh in places but fun to try ... not much coffee though as the billing suggested.

Can at home picked up from Ghost Whale. A jet black coloured with a lively pale tan head. Aroma is tangy green apple, prickly, spicy coffee, botanicals, spicy alcohol, acidic coffee. Flavour is composed of tangy sour green apple, nutty malts, toast, acidic coffee hit, spicy alcohol. Bit too sour. Palate is spicy tart, prickly carbonation. Quite initeresting.

17/1/2021. Can from Hoppily, Leigh-on-Sea. Pours clear pale gold with a large fluffy white head. Aroma is sour citrus, yeast, lemon, malt, grain, grass. Medium sweetness, light bitterness, minimal tartness. Moderate body, slightly oily and fairly fizzy. Not great overall but looked good with a nice label too.

500ml crowler can. Pours a rosy red, meagre bubbly topping. Aroma has light red berries, redcurrants. Taste brings a moderate carbonation, gently sour with a nice floral red berry character, perhaps a hint of hibiscus with a mild pithy bitterness on the finish. Not entirely sure what is in this, given there is zero information on the can, but seems a pleasant red berry-led sour, nicely presented.
