Keg at Francis in Plzen. Nice bright copper coloured pour with a lasting creamy head. Nice citrus and resin hop aroma with some caramel and biscuity malts. Flavour is composed of caramel and toffee malts, harsh grassy Hoo with some pine and citrus hops. Assertive slightly rough hop bitterness. Palate is semi sweet, high carbonation and medium dry in the finish. Some lingering tobacco and chalk. Decent but a bit too much cara malts.

(Draught at Zubaty Pes, Prague, 17 July 2014) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of caramel, liquorice, coffee and dark fruit. Malty, roasted taste with dried fruit, caramel, coffee, liquorice and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, fairly sweet. Quite fruity and sweet for an imperial stout, but tasty and well balanced. Very nice.

0.75l bottle from Kulovy Blesk. Deep brown, black colour, beige head. Malty with coffee and lots of it. Resiny hops tune in soon, leading to a bitter-sweet finish.

Bottle courtesy of rlgk. Pours blackish brown with a small frothy blackish beige head that slowly dissipates while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is malty, slightly fruity and tiny funky with biscuits, burnt cereal, roasted malts, tropical fruits, grapefruit juice, hay, pine, burnt wood and barnyard. Taste is tiny sweet, bitter, fruity and funky with roasted malts, burnt wood, biscuits, grapefruit juice, soil, leather, barnyard, ripe tropical fruits, orange zest, lemon zest and dark roast coffee. Mouthfeel is slightly dry, astringent and medium bodied. Finish is bitter and slightly fruity with roasted malts, soil, barnyard, grapefruit rinds, orange zest, unripe tropical fruits, leather, coffee and barnyard. Lingering brett infection since I don’t think the funkiness is intentional. Works but most likely not what it’s supposed to be...
