Bottle marked as Cuvee Van de Generaal thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a clear golden hued body with some particles and a small white head. Aromas are mildly bready malty, very dry, boozy, estery, peppery phenols and mildly musty. Flavors are very dry and alcoholic (especially given the ABV), earthy, mildly bready, clean and lightly floral. Pretty decent overall, but very warming with lively bubbles and a dry finish.

Bottle. A clear, dark golden beer topped by a small, dense, off-white head. Fruity, lightly spiced and yeasty nose. Some alcohol notes. The flavor is pretty much the same, quite fruity, and with a pleasant bitterness. Medium to full body, slightly warming, and nicely carbonated. Lasting bitter finish. Overall, a quite nice one, although maybe a bit on the warming side. 120622

Bottle from Beer Planet, Bruxelles
Hazy dark amber to mahogany color; creamy head. Strange aroma, sweet, with vegetables and liquorice, candies. Sweetish caramel, with strange flavor of candies and maybe vegetables, carrots; medium to low bitterness.
Very weird, rather unpleasant.

33cl bottle as Cuvee van de Generaal @ home. Slightly hazy golden color, full sized a bit creamy off-white head that lasts and leaves fair lacing. Smell malts, sweetness and candysugar. Taste malts, moderately sweet, lightly alcohol, some sugar, lightly bitter finish. Medium to full carbonation, medium body. Hmm after about 15 minutes it gets better. The carbonation becomes more pleasant and the aroma and taste less sweetish. Originally I rated it 2.7, but a 3.1 suits the beer more.

Bottle at Bier Circus, Bruxelles
The color is very dark, almost black; it has a compact beige head. There is aroma of dark malts, but it’s also fruity (apples). Good body strength, with round and smooth mouthfeel; strong flavor of dark caramel, some roasted malts and liquorice; it has just a medium-low residual sweetness; correct bitterness; in the final there is some alcohol perception.
Solid brew, well brewed, but too much liquorice for me.

33cl bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Hazy dark orange to light, faint red color, small off-white to beige head that disminishes almost instantly. Smell is off: old malts, herbal, slightly medicinal. Taste old malts, old bread, yeasty, light to moderately sweet. Low to medium body, medium carbonation.

Bottle thx to benzai. Slightly hazy orange, golden colour with a small white head. Smells herbs, green twigs and malts. Mostly herbs i dont like. Tastes malty, fresh, some iron.. Not bad! Quite decent taste, nothing very special or complex. Good carbo, thin to medium body.
