Keg at Beer Asylum, Pinner. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a thin off white head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, vanilla aroma and taste, not picking up the bourbon in this. Decent enough.

Bottle split at L6 tasting, thanks to Fergus, 23/05/19. Pitch black with a well presented tan head. Nose is chocolate, tangy fruit esters, lactic wiff, spice, toffee, light charr. Taste comprises dark malts, charr, mellow roast, tangy dried berries, cocoa sprinkle. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a mellow boost and a light rum sozzle at the curtain call. Ok impy.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Fergus. Pours dark brown with a yellow-tan head. Not bad, rich, some alcohol notes, earthy bitterness, ashy roast. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Roasted malts in the finish, more scorched earth. Alright.

Level 6 bottleshare. Thanks to Fergus. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Smooth and fairly dry palate, decent fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, a little thin, some dark malt cream. A little dark malt bitterness. The rum barrel comes through well, fruity and a little bitter. Touch of bitter dark chocolate. Fruity bitterish finish. A little bitter but a bold and interesting impy.
