Description
Founded by Anthony and Helena in 2018, Eko Brewery aims to produce unique tasting beers. During a 12 months secondment to America in 2013, Anthony and Helena were inspired by the micro brewery scene in the US and set out to create their own unique beer. Their research led them to discover traditional African brewing techniques and recipes. The results of their product reflect a selection of enjoyable and authentic craft beers.

Opened their own bowery in 2025.

9/1/2022. Draught sample courtesy of SHIG, cheers. Pours hazy pale orange gold with a frothy white head. Aroma of guava, melon, berries, orange, jammy edge. Moderate sweetness, medium earthy bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation. Nice bittersweet finish. Good use of these less commonly seen hops. Liked this.

Can.Hazy yellowish gold beer, wonder why this is so much hazier than the No 2? Tidy white head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Light malts, nicely sweet, hint of creamy sweetness. Southern Passion hops bring mild skunk, a nice melange of tangerine and mandarin and lesser orange. Light pine and modest marmaladey citrus peel. Light finish. Nice. Richer than Southern Aroma and more complex, but doesn't have the juicy brightness of that hop. Interesting and drinkable.

Can. Light haze on this yellowish gold beer, good white head, slightly off white. Light malts, reasonably sweet and with a mild touch of grain. Southern Aroma hops are new one on me, well certainly solo anyway. Soft skunk and soft pine into some good tangerine backed with a whisper of tangerine peel. Maybe a touch of Passion Fruit on the back end. Light finish. Nicely tangerine this hop and nicely presented here. Juicy and very drinkable.

Keg at the Riverside Beer Festival - BBNo Morden Wharf. Pours just slightly hazed orange-gold with a tight, frothy white head. Not bad, lightly sweet, some crackery pale malts, pine needles, tangerine rind. Light bodied with average carbonation. Balanced finish, clean pale malts, soft pine and citrus. Sound.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours totally clear honey-gold with a creamy, white head. Balanced sweetness, pleasant biscuity pale malts, white grape, tangerine, kiwi, low bitterness. Light bodied with massaging carbonation. Nicely rounded finish, some Southern Hemisphere hops, supportive pale malts, subtle bitter citrus rind. Good stuff.
