Can from LetsPour.com. Pours very dark brown with a tan smear. Aroma of treacle, dark malt and chocolate, and? Med body. Flavor is chocolate, coffee, dark malt and ? I have no idea what BTs taste like. There’s some unknown to me flavor in this. If you told me it was marine oyster, I’d believe you. Decent stout.

On tap at the brewery. Perhaps I was disappointed that Oyster Stout had run out and I was geared for that, but I found this beer lacking. Poured a clear brown with almost no head - which is ok for style. Aroma of cherry, chocolate, and syrup. The flavor was mostly a sweet and sticky syrup. Very viscous. Syrup overwhelms the palate so that other sensations cannot come out.

Great American Beer Festival 2012. Black with more carbonation than what I just tried from Rahr. More roasted grain flavor, with a very light hint of smoke, and a good palate.

Draught at Wynkoop, October 2012, GABF week. Aroma of a smokey stout. Black. Low carbonation, but a fairly thick palate. Some meat, malt, and heavily roasted grain. A rich, thick beer, great palate.

Draught at Wynkoop, October 2012, GABF week. Hazy gold color and almost no carbonation. Some apple aroma and a little apple flavor with flavor of a sweet American style wheat beer and surprisingly lots of apricot.

Draught at Wynkoop, October 2012, GABF week. Dark yellow color and a lacing white head. Dry hop aroma. Belgian yeast and balanced with hop flavor, what I expect in a Belgian style IPA, even if not as good as the best Belgian examples.

Draught at Wynkoop, October 2012, GABF week. A very god amber ale. Sweet with fresh hops, so full of hop flavor I am thinking this might be a wet hopped beer. Some brown sugar and sweet malt for balance. Full-flavored. A good beer.

Draught at Wynkoop, October 2012, GABF week. Brown color. Light spice with cinnamon and nutmeg, but it is under-flavored and there is not much there.

Sample at Denver Rare Beer Tasting IV on 10/12/2012. The beer pours a dark brownish-amber color with a medium light beige head that diminishes steadily to a wispy film. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of cherries and malt. Full-bodied with a vinous character and notes of cherries, yeast and malt. The finish is oaky and fruity. Above average overall.
