Description
The Alhambra Brewery was founded in 1925 by Carlos Bouvard, owner of the malt house La Moravia in Barcelona, and Antonio Knörr, from a family with a long beer tradition. Until 1954, this would remain a small brewery with only 20 employees, a subsidiary of the malt house in Barcelona. In that year, the Damm brewery takes a majority stake in the company and the Granada plant begins its steady growth. In 1979 Damm S.A. reorganizes Cervezas Alhambra, and Cruzcampo acquires a minority stake in the company. In 1999, Cervezas Alhambra became, thanks to the purchase of the Cordoban brewer of, among other things, the beer Mezquita, the largest brewer in Andalusia. In 2006 the company was bought by the Grupo Mahou-San Miguel, the largest beer company in Spain, of which it is still part today.

Color salmón, nebulosa. Bonita espuma blanca. Aroma ligemente frutal.

Clear and golden with a frothy/bubbly white head and soft sweet malt on the nose. Sherbet-like carbonation, light bodied with light sweet malt, some floral notes, a tocuh of bitterness and a dry finish

Can, 5.4%. The aroma is mostly lagery, and there is a faint note of metal, spicy hops, and perhaps caramel. Clear golden colour. Fizzy white head. The flavour is nicely malty. Not sweet, but quite malty, and not caramelly. Hard carbonation. Not a bad beer. 636313 / 6 6 6 6 6,5

Bottle. Deep dark color with a nice light tan head. Aroma was a slight nutty toast aroma with undertones of chocolate and molasses. Flavor was a toast malt flavor that was sweet but in a pleasant way.

0.33 l can. Black color with quickly disappearing head. Sweet, malty aroma and some yeast maybe. Bittersweet, kinda well balanced taste. Short finishing, medium body, soft carbonation. Not bad.

Can at the hotel in Corralejo. My free pass on drinking macro stuff on holiday for ticks is still valid.

A decent Spanish lager, not too fizzy. A couple of bottles at La Nube in Nerja.
