Colt 45 is a brand of malt liquor introduced by National Brewing Company in Baltimore, MD in the spring of 1963. Pabst acquired the Colt 45 brand when it acquired National Brewing Company and has been brewing it at various MillerCoors production facilities since.

Can - Sweet light grains and corn/ Clear gold with a rich white head. Sweet corn and some boozy notes. Kinda gross.

Bottle. Cotteridge Beano v2. Pretty much what I was expecting. Not for me, although it’s certainly better than the Bud Platinum that preceded it.

Looks like this is 11K. Bottle at the Cotteridge Convention 2016. Thanks to Rich, Sarky and Boosty Mackenzie for this juan. It pours clear pale gold with a substantial white head. The aroma is relatively fresh (although I did just have two chilli beers before), paper, cardboard, creamed corn and malt extract. The taste is crisp, sweet, creamy, corn, cheap sweet white bread, plenty of alcohol boost and white sugar. Medium body, fine carbonation and grainy mouth-feel. Tastes cheap, sugary and boosty. I suppose it was what they were aiming for... Sweet baby jeebus. I definitely prefer the high gravity version over this.

Bottle at CWC II supplied by MacBoost; clear golden yellow pour with a thin white head, sweet malt aroma, taste has sweet malts some toffee apple. A little drive by in the finish.

Cotteridge 2 tasting. The colt 45 is a proper malt liqueur. Sticky malt but some hop too. It’s OK .Not bad.

Can (from Miami). Clear golden color, small white head. Aroma of honey, green apple and alcohol. Light-bodied to medium-bodied. Watery palate. Sweetish pear and apple flavors. Warming alcohol. Malt likka Yeah! Lacks bitterness (and malts).

Can (bought in Miami). Golden color, steady small white head. Green apple and alcohol in the nose. Light-bodied. Watery palate. Honey sweetness and green apple. Short finish and no bitterness. Meh.

Can in Singapore, brewed in the Philippines. Sticky sweetish beginning. Grainy malty, not much depth. Alcoholic aroma, sticky sweetish aftertaste with a moderate bitterness.
