Draught at Luca, 8/27/16.
Bright canteloupe flesh hues meet light copper amidst a moderate haze. Small, off-white head atop shows modest retention.
The melon and cucumber are both quite apparent in the nose, yet still well-integrated with the beer characteristics, as crisp, vegetal cucumber, clean and bright complements the peppery spice of the yeast and the fruity, fleshy, juicy melon notes meld with the other yellow fruit esters. Very clean, bright and with no alcohol. Fruit is not overdone and the beer is seemingly well-attenuated with a touch of whitebread and cream-of-wheat character in the background.
A soft, almost slick, texture is felt, with obvious wheat influences and a good dryness. Tight carbonation propels on juicy esters and actual fruitiness as the melon adds tons of flavor but not a lot of sweetness. The cucumber cools the finish, with bright, crisp, green vegetal notes. White and black pepper linger, as well, with light minerality and a bit of whitebread and biscuit. Delightful stuff, with the utmost authentic fruit characteristics and a perfect level of attenuation.

Sampled from 0.75 l bottle at RBBSG 2016 in Evergem. Hazy, very pale straw yellow with a white head. Fruity-grassy, sourish, slightly floral aroma of lemon peel, pineapple, fresh grass and pineapple. Slightly bitter, sourish, grassy-fruity and a bit herbal taste of lemon peel, grapefruit, pineapple and some ginger, followed by a short, moderately bitter, grassy and a little tart finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent and a little astringent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice!

Thx! to Benzai. 750 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG V. GUSHER. Pale citrus lemonade looking, collapsing white head. Nose is soap & big brett, zesty, milky, soapy brett, chemical lemon & lime. Taste is white wine, lemon, basic lemon sour, low sour chemical lemon soap, fizzy, lots of bret,,… Soapy & fizzy. Rather comical, simple, excessive go at saison + brett + barrel. Enjoyable, current USA hype is lost on me as is often the case.

Sampled @ Ratebeer Belgian Summer Gathering 2016. [Bottle from trade with Petrinoda, thanks!] Cloudy pale yellow color, small white head. Aroma is lightly sour and funky. Taste sourish, funk, citrus, some bitter, quite dry. Decent to medium body and carbonation. Nice balance. Quite good. Nice one!

3/IX/16 - 75cl bottle @ RBBSG V (Klaas' place) - BB: n/a, bottled: 15/I/16 (2016-953) Thanks to Benzai for sharing the bottle!
Pretty hazy bright pale yellow beer, small aery white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: wow, that's bad! Funky, sourish, lemon juice, just weird, spicy touch, grassy, more funk and dirty. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sourish start, bit lemony, soapy, funky, some coriander. Aftertaste: sourish, quite a bit of tannins. Not a fan. Another US sour that manages to completely throw me of. Saison does not mean it has to be sour, and definitely not dirty like this, bah.

On tap at Forest & Main. It pours a light golden orange color with an off white head. The aroma is lightly herbal with some orange marmalade. The flavor is the same. It seems pretty authentically British with strong herbal hop notes and orange marmalade. Good.

On tap at Forest & Main. It pours a pale yellow gold color with a white head. The aroma is grainy and lightly spicy. The flavor has some lightly tart citrus. Lemon, lime, orange and grapefruit stand out. A little grainy malt. Very light on the palate, bordering on watery with a nice soft mouthfeel. Nice stuff here.

On tap at Forest & Main. It pours a hazy light orange color with an off white head. The aroma has huge melon rind. The flavor is the same. Lots of melon-like hoppiness with medium to strong bitterness. Decent stuff.
