On tap in Cranberry. Pour is a big head with the beer being an orange brown, mostly orange, colored liquid. Can’t see any bubbles within. Has a little perfumed background in there, the one I detect with most all H&H beers. I wonder if it is the dishwasher. Otherwise it is wonted beery smells. Interesting flavor, fruity and slightly sweet. There is a little bitterness but barely. The data card says this is 22 IBU. Seems to be less than that. Very little, if any, carbonation. Has a medium level of hop bitterness to balance a malt sweetness. Finish is not offensive and this makes the beer likable and easy to drink. Less strong than many Marzens. Over all, a decent and repeatable session beer.

On tap at the Cranberry H&H near Pittsbugh PA. Really looking forward to this, wheat beers are my fave. Pours pale yellow with a slight haze. I was a little dissapointed in the pour, the description said unfiltered but this has no real cloudyness to it. Initially pretty bitter for a wheat beer. No particular aroma on this one and this is surprizing because all the other beerss I had at H&H had lots of smell. The initial bitterness eventually fades to an acceptable flavor that can be enjoyed. This may be a bit watered down but there is just a hint of citrus. There is no yeastyness apparent in this beer. This has a flavor more like a lager than a wheat beer if that is possible. I think they accidentally dropped some hops in there even though on the card it says low or no hops added. Finish is not offensive but does have a hint of bitterness that fades rapidly.

On tap at the Cranberry H&H near Pittsburgh PA. Pour is just a little darker than your typical pale yellow beer, maybe even a bit orange. Has a cramy white head and I don’t really notice too much strong barleywine aroma as with many other barleywines I’ve tasted. Taste is initially very strong with a high alky impact. I am not dissapointed, just like any other barleywine impact. Seems to have a strong alky personality that is in your face, again as expected for a barleywine. The head eventually fades to a slight froth. The taste is bitter, probably due to the alky content. In the description it says that 50 pounds of brown suger is added during the brew. I guess most of these barley wines must add sugar to get the desired effects. Very bitter alky offnsive finish. Barleywines are just too strong for my girlie taste buds.

On tap at the Cranberry H&H near Pittsburgh, PA. Here it is called Butler Bock after the nearby town. Pours orangish red in my clear glass. Aroma has hints of sweetness. There is absolutely no head, not even a froth. It does have that bock flavor, strong but not too strong. Very bocky, can enjoy as a bock, no doubt. Not bad at all, perhaps a little weak, but not much. Very gentleman-like for a bock, enjoyable. Finish is good and not offensive, but it does have it’s own personality. Not a bitter finish but it does have enough taste to let you know you just drank a beer. Finish fades rapidly.

On tap at the Cranberry H&H near Pittsburgh PA. Pour is orangish in my clear glass. Aroma is slight flowery & perfumy hops. This beer is customed brewed locally as told to me by my beer maid. You can get your growler filled if you like, on thursday nights its a big sale special. Head is beige and it fades to a froth in no time at all. Not quite as bitter the IPA I had earlier. The bitterness does build after each sip. Finally the finish lingers for quite a while. Almost like a mild IPA. If you like pale ale or IPA, better get your growler filled.

Pours lighter orange yellow in my glass. This was on tap at the H&H in Cranberry, near PGH PA. Here they renamed it the ’black & gold helles’ after the steelers. Should not be too bitter, the bar card says it has an ibu of 20. I can barely sense any aroma, but it is noticable. Its a kind of slight fruity hint. Head fades to a small white rim that sticks to the sides of the glass. An odd initial flavor awaits you, Not real bitter but not real lager like either. Kind of interesting personality. A metallic or industrial flavor that you easiy appriciate. Has some good personality for a helles. Finish is OK but does have some lingering bitterness to it. The bitterness fades rapildy and does not hang around like many ales.

On tap at the H&H brew pub in Cranberry PA. Here it was simply called "IPA". Has a nice hoppy IPA aroma of flowery hops, can’t miss it. Slightly darker than your typical pale yellow american brew but the same color as many an IPA. Not really copper colored as it says on the bar card. I am expecting something really bitter, on the card it says 80 IBUs. On the initial flavor impression, I find it not watered down, it fits the IPA style pretty well. Grapefruit peel bitter flavor that lingers for long time. If you like IPA, you better seek this out at least for a one time try. Growlers are available! Very bitter medicine quality that hangs like any good IPA. I better rinse my mouth with some ice water before I taste another brew. Linger astringent bitterness will not go away.

This is listed as an irish red ale at the bar. On tap at the H&H at Cranberry near Pittsburgh. Pours a reddish. orange, orange orange. This seems to be one of H&H’s favorite recipes. I see its at all their places. Nice creamy head. Sweet perfumy flowery aroma but it is not overwelming. I can appreciate this smell, very nice. Not even a mild bitterness on the first taste. Very well behaved. After a few hits a slight bitterness does begin to grow. Does seem just a teeny bit watered down, but just barely. I would think this beer would appeal to someone new in departing from the pale yellow american beer. It is different enough to spur curiosity but not bold enough to warrant a complaint. Not offensive enough to scare away the macro drinker. Finish is smooth interesting and repeatable.

AHHHHH, such a nice place, this brewpub. H&H white tail ale. On tap at the Cranberry Twp brewpub near Pittsburgh PA. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a white head. Very nice sweet aroma, almost like flowery coconuts. Flavor is a mild bitterness and carbonation is good to medium low. Says it has low levels of hop bitterness. But I don’t sense any at all. Finish does have some personality like a mild ale. The only other golden I’ve had is Kocks Golden anniversary. This is certainly as good, probably much better than than.

On tap at the H&H in Cranberry township PA near Pittsburgh. As you’d expect a dark rather opague brew. However, held against the sunlight I can see an ever so dim shade of reddish brown in there. Aroma of coffee and raostyness is ever apparent and preasant. Tannish head fades to a ring around the edge of the glass. All that remains is a froth on top. Oh yes, your schwartzbeer flavors are there. I think this may taste better than some of the other schartzbeers I’ve had from the bottle. A little bitterness in there that lets you know it has personality, but it is not offensive. The finish does have a linger hang that lasts for a while, but again it is not terribly offensive. Easy to enjoy dark beer. Good example of a dark beer. Tastes quite abit like their stout.
