The appearance was a fairly dark brown color with an eggshell white semi-foamy head that died off at a decent pace. Light lace.
The aroma had a decent blend of sweet rye, sweet chocolate, light earthiness, some herbal qualities, and a light cereal sweet grain.
The flavor definitely leaned towards the sweet side and didn’t seem to let the rye let out it’s \"spiciness\" that I wanted. Aftertaste consisted of the sweet rye and chocolate and allowed a quick sweet finish.
The feel was almost medium bodied, seemed just a touch under with a fairly guarded sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine as well.
Overall, decent rye beer. I didn’t see a whole lot of \"stout\" qualities and I wished the \"spicy\" context would have come out, but hey, it’s not a bad beer. I could still drink if I got it again.

The appearance was a fairly dark red almost brown color with a thin finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Some stringy lace.
The aroma had some roasty coffee tones up front and then some cherry sweetness, something like that Michigan black cherry sweetness more or less. Light cherry skin tartness ever so slightly.
The flavor leaned towards the roast initially and then evened into the cherry sweetness. Tartness seemed barely there. Some milk and dark chocolates show up here. Nice proportionate cherries to chocolate to roast in the aftertaste and following through into the finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a fair grip of the roasty components trying to make a decent effort of imbalancing the effects of the sweet smoothness on my tongue. Ends up just showing it’s full authenticity of the cherries. Now that’s a fabulous feel!
Overall, very nicely done porter with those Michigan cherries just showcasing their ability to enliven a great style.

The appearance was a dark brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell at a good pace. Mild lace.
The aroma had some caramel malt, light chocolate, light toast and a little bit of piney hops.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side and ended up playing with the piney hops fairly nice. Aftertaste was mostly sweet and it amplified the sweetness in the finish.
The feel was about medium bodied, maybe a touch under. Good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good and the ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, nicely done brown ale worthy of more pours if I could get it again.
