Description
We are committed to creating a cultural bonfire through modern craft beer, music, and art to bring us all together.

We believe breweries have always been an essential part of a community’s culture. Our passion is fueled by the many beers across this planet that continue to inspire us. We focus on collaboration, creativity, and quality craftsmanship. We partner with the resilient farmers of Michigan who provide the grains and hops that ignite the signature character of our beers. During this unique time, we want to share the Mothfire spirit, from our cans to your home, and hopefully soon through art, music, and live events at our taproom.

Fairly clear, but ever so slightly hazy golden coloured body with a lot of bubbles, all underneath a nice two to three centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of nice pungent and deep grassy and very citrusey hops with a lot of malts noticeable, a very light sweetness and a touch of some earth, all with the yeast and malt relevant for the style (not much). Medium-bodied; Strong rich hop bitterness comes through the alpha acids and the malts with a light sweetness and a fairly grassy finish that has a subdued but noticeable citrus bite with the alpha acid bitterness. Aftertaste is rich, yet clean with a lot of flavours showing through, while being fairly easy-drinking, at least during the heat of the daytime in summer. Overall, a very nice IPA that hits the marks well with a great balance of malt and hops for the style, a light bit of sweetness and a citusey bitterness from the hops that does well - great to sample as my first from this brewery and would be happy to find more if I could! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Everyday Wines in Ann Arbor, Michigan on 02-August-2021 for US$4,50 sampled with my family in the park close-by while eating sandwiches from Zingermann's in Ann Arbor, Michigan on 02-August-2021.

Can from Holiday Market. Pours a clear straw gold with a full two fingers of foam that lingers. Dank, resin, pineapple grapefruit aromas. Palate is similar with a dry finish. Body feels a little maltier than I like my west coasts but still enjoyable.

Can from Holiday Market. Pours a clear orange to rusty copper with a finger of off-white foam. Big Amarillo focused nose with sweet orange candy, floral citrus and mild earthy tea aromas. Sweet on the palate with more earthy, floral citrus notes and too much perceived sweetness. Feels a bit heavy for a west coast IPA. Need a better effort from Mothfire.
