Bottle from Maruhn, Darmstadt
Muddy amber color; generous head, compact, persistent. Very nice aroma, strong, full, with strong banana, and some cookies, bread. The mouthfeel is smooth, the body is quite strong; sweetish flavor, good mix of wheat and malt, with a precise banana presence, light spices; in the final there is an impression of bubblegum that is not required. The bitterness is quite low; the alcohol gently warms the palate. Excellent and well balanced example.

50cl bottle. Pours a toffee colour with a yellow hue around the edges. There are steady bubbles and a good head though not as enormous as usual. The nose is of banana and cream, maybe including a hint of vanilla. The taste has more bananas, vanilla ice-cream and a toffee note in the background that comes in more at the end. The palate is medium to big in structure, there is a very creamy texture as expected and the finish fresh if not completely clean. Overall, a lovely rich but refreshing beer.

12/11/12/12/13/12

50cl bottle. Pours a beautiful golden/orange with steady bubbles and a nice head. The nose has ripe bananas, some delicate spice (maybe cinnamon or nutmeg. The taste has bananas, it’s slightly creamy with some vanilla. The palate has a medium to big structure, a creamy texture and a lovely refreshing finish. The overall impression is that this is a great example and very sessionable.

50cl bottle. Poured hazy orange with a white head, not much lacing. High carbonation. Aroma is banana and some spicyness. Flavor is more dull, ripe banana and water melon, some sourness towards finish. Drinkable, not very memorable.

03/10 0.5 l bottle, from Bier Spezialitäten Laden in Berlin, the very last one that remained from Marko’s and mine March trip. It poured hazy orange body with medium sized head. Very nice bubblegum aroma. Flavor was a slight letdown then, it had quality weizen characteristics - tasty banana and even spicy notes, but occasionally it had unpleasant metallic note, with medium body which seemed even watery as of its very short finish. Pleasant otherwise, but if only didn’t have that metal in it.

Bottled 500ml. -Courtesy of Marko and heavy, shared with both of them (thanks!).
Hazy orange coloured, small to medium sized off-white head, dusty fruity yeasty nose. Yeasty, wheaty and banana taste with sharp alcoholic finish. Drinkable but pretty ordinary beer.

0.5l bottle that heavy and me got at the Bier Spezialitäten Laden in Berlin, shared with ogivlado. Poured a dark, murky orange-brown body with a thick, chalky white head. Banana and yeast in the nose, sweet and fresh. Sweet light yeasty taste, with vague notes of banana. Very drinkable but hardly a stunner.
