(bottle) Hazy, dark amber colour with a mid-sized off-white foamy head. Bready and toasty malt aroma with caramel, light fruity banana notes and only traces of cloves. Wheaty taste with caramel and a balanced fruitiness. Initially sweet, later slightly tart flavour; malty, slightly fruity and dense clovy finish. Well-balanced and fine Dunkelweizen.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a hazy, pilsener golden with a small, off-white head. Distinct aroma of banana and phenols. Medium-bodied with very fresh and sweet fruit notes - loads of banana. Short, dry finish. A lovely Hefe. 160806

(Draught at GBBF, London, 3 Aug) Colour is pale brown with a beige head. Nose is fruity with a wheaty character and notes of banana, chocolate and clove. Taste has a bittersweet wheat character and notes of banana, vanilla and chocolate (nice banana and chocolate ice-cream taste). Well balanced and nice, but lacking something extra.

Bottled: Cloudy, deep golden to orangey coloured, big rocky, quite firm off-white head; usual fruity nose: bananas, oranges, orange peel with a big touch of cloves; soft MF, light to medium bodied, almost oily; sweetish (fruity) flavour; a bit caramelly, mainly soft fruity finish with only a faint tinge of bitterness or tartness. A chewy, decent and pleasant Weizen....

Bottle: Cloudy, chestnut to amber coloured, small fluffy head, quickly diminishing; sourish (vinegar !) fruity nose: bananas, cloves, yeast; sourish-sweetish fruity flavour, fizzy mouthfeel, light bodied; sourish-fruity, again, finish, nearly no tartness. Not really bad, drinkable, but it smells just a bit funny.......Must try it again! (Thanks to joss for this sample)

An unclear orange beer with a thin white head. Both the aroma and flavor are sweet wheaty. Nothing wrong, but nothing special either.

On tap at Battersea Beer Festival 2006. Dirty brown with hints of gold. Not the world’s most attractive beer. Lemoney/vinegar aroma with some bubblegum. Really quite a nice dunkel weiss. The lemon is really noticeable throughout. Good finish
