Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is ripe-ish fruits, citrus, smooth pale malt, mandarin, touch of mango. Flavour is light bitter and sweetish. Body is medium. Soft and smooth, sweetish fruit, agreeable IIPA.

Can from BiervanEijk, Frederiksoord. Nice smooth malt bill with wheat and oats. Picking up citrus, mango, pineapple. Flavour is light bitter with low sweetness. Medium body. Citrussy with pineapple and smooth malts, not very outspoken, pleasant though.

Tight white head on a dark golden coloured body. Medium bodied creamy & clean on the back. Malt, lime, resinous & grapefruit tastes with a bitterly hopped up finish. Cracking.

Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 34C - base 20C with lactose, cacao, honey and almonds). Can 44 cl - Batch L24037 (BB: 07-01-2027). AROMA: medium-high sweet cocoa aroma with a low background note of almonds and alcohol. APPEARANCE: very dark brown color and opaque. medium-low brown head with low to no retention. TASTE: initial medium sweet cocoa flavor and slight alcohol. low bitterness with a sweet and slightly roasty (almost burnt) finish. MOUTHFEEL: full body and creamy with a slight velvet sensation. medium-low carbonation. slightly hot alcoholic sensation. OVERALL: a pastry stout with strong cocoa notes, on the sweet side, not very complex.

Keg at Viejo Vagabundo Cervecería del Mundo, Alicante. A lovely fresh and fruity hazy IPA with dry hop bitterness delivering gently in the background. Decent.
