Bottled. Amber coolour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is very fruity, wooden and quite yeasty. A very pleasant balance in notes. Flavour is lots of alcohol, some fruity hops and mild herbal notes. A very pleasant beer. Drinkable, and very mellow for being so high abv.

Bottle at GBBF, 05-08-09 Many thanks to Alex for explaining about this beer and all of the Italian beers at GBBF. Pours warm gold/light amber. Wonderful hoppy nose.Plenty of citrussy and bitter hops but balanced out by a nice honey sweetness. The alcohol is there and certainly warms a little but otherwise is incredibly well hidden. Have purchased a couple of these so will try again and rate in a little more detail, but definately one of my favourite beers of the evening. A8 A4 F8 P4 Ov16 4.0

Hazy blond color; small head; nice lace. Powerful aroma of Nelson Sauvin, passion fruit over anything else, a bit sweaty. Medium body strength; it’s a strange but pleasant combination of Belgian style spicy ale with North American fruity hops. Very pleasant.

Hazy golden color. Very nice hoppy aroma, more delicate than other Nelson Sauvin beers, therefore it’s easier to find something more than grapefruit, there is also some passion fruit and a grassy touch. Good flavor, malt with Belgian character. Strong bitterness. Big warming final.

Hazy golden color; small creamy head. Impressive aroma, grassy grapefruit. Good caramel flavor, medium sweetness, strong hopping, resiny, a lot of citrus fruits. An extreme, beautiful brew.

Like the other wooden versions, it has less fruity character, more sweat, some lemon aroma too; alcohol. The flavor is very similar, difficult to find wood differences, maybe also due to the additional ageing.

Bottle, 37.5cl corked, at Copenhagen Beerfestival. It pours a clear, golden body and a dense, diminishing off-white head. This one is my favorite of the four Woodwork Series beers. The hops are more pronounced, the rubber is not as evident, and it’s more balanced. There’s a fine fruityness in the aroma, and just a vague hint of rubber. Some woody notes too. Nice flavor where the malts and hops unite much better than in the other three. Full-bodied, nicely carbonated, and with a slightly stinging bitterness. Even though it’s my favorite of the four, it’s still not a beer that impresses me. On the other hand, I would very much like to have them all at least once more. (090515)

Bottle, 37.5cl corked, at Copenhagen Beerfestival. As the French Oak barrel edition, it has some alcohol and wood on the nose, followed by a too evident rubber scent. Pale malt and fruits too. Pale malts, fruits, some bitterness and rubber in the flavor. More bitter than the French Oak edition, and also fruitier on the flavor and finish. The rubber is a bit toned down, and the alcohol is as usual well hidden. Still, on the rubbery side, and not my favorite DIPA. (090515)

Bottle, 37.5cl corked, at Copenhagen Beerfestival. It pours a hazy, orange body under a small off-white head. Alcohol, but not much, some rubber and wood, and pale malts in the aroma. The flavor is much the same, with more emphasis on the malts, and a more evident fruityness. Also the rubber is more obvious. Medium, astringently bitter. Rubbery finish with pale malts. Even though it’s on the rubbery side, I kinda like it, and it’s impressing how the alcohol is masked. (090515)

Bottle, 37,5cl corked, at Copenhagen Beerfestival. It pours a clear, golden body with a nice, white head. Sourish nose with smoke, some notes of rubber, alcohol and a good dash of citrusy hops. Astringency, some smoke, dusty sourness, some rubber in the flavor, with a too rubbery finish. Full-bodied and astringent. I dislike the rubber in the beer, but it’s far from a bad one. Wonder where they hid all the alcohol. (090515)
