Very clear copper and light bronze coloured body with a thin, slightly off-white head. Aroma of fresh grassy and very herbal hops with a big dose of astringency and alcohol noticeable without much malt at all. Light to Medium-bodied; Quite bitter and nutty malt flavours at first with some biscuits, a touch of grain, a lot of herbs and a dose of more PNW deeper hops with an astringency on the end. Aftertaste shows a good balance of malt and hops, but too little of either to make a big dent in anything, but some bitterness, alcohol and punch from the astringent flavours and a touch of citrus on the end as well. Overall, a pretty poor beer overall, and not a good beer in the slightest bit for the style, which is quite sad because I had much higher hopes for this one, but will probably avoid this brewery in the future due to this big miss! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Dominion Wine and Beer in Falls Church, Virginia on 31-January-2018 for US$2,99 sampled at home in Washington on Easter Sunday, 01-April-2018.

Finally giving into the hair of the dog... Rating #3999. $2.50 can from Beer Run. Pours medium gold with a small beige head. Aroma is nice: sweet citrus, mainly orange, floral hops. Yummy flavor of sweet orange, floral hops, pine, resin, caramel, almost a light butterscotch finish. Nice flavor.

Caramel, bread crust aroma. Clear amber, thin head. Honey, bread crust. Medium body, soft carbonation. Tasty, but little hop presence for this style.

On tap at Trail's End Taproom. Pours a bright, hazy yellow color, with a small, white head. The aroma is strong, smooth apricot, straw, pine sap, and butterscotch. Fruity and sweet, with a light, drying funk. Light to medium body, with a creamy, pulpy, and oddly acidic mouthfeel. This is a pretty solid, lightly funky beer. Fun.

Tap at Freshcraft - cloudy ruby - has everything I generally hope for in a darker rendition of the style (clove and other spicy phenolics, moderate esters, dark bread), but it doesn’t all come together well - the spicier phenols, in particular are overboard, and there is a slight medicinal character in the finish - eh.

Full draft pour at Mercantile Dining & Provision which is located in the downtown Denver Union Station. Poured a clear yellow color, small fizzy white head. Aroma was crisp grassy notes, sweet grains, light herbal and floral hop notes. Easy drinking.

Sample at Pint Room Littleton. Hazy amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to a film. Strings of lacing. Aroma of fruit, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, citrus and grainy malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a short fruity hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at Pint Room Littleton. Dark brown pour with a medium foamy beige head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing. Aroma of roast malt, coffee and hops. Light-bodied with flavors of toasted malt, mild coffee and lightly spiced hops. The finish is roasty with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.
