(Draught at Porterhouse Central on 2008-07-01) Amber and clear. Medium-sized white head. Light and bit sweet nose with alcohol and malts in it. Fulle palate with some carbonation and alcohol. Alchohol, malts, salty liquorice, hops and drien plum in taste. Quite ok as the alcohol doesn’t push through too strongly.

(Draught at Porterhouse on 2008-07-01) Almost black. Medium-sized dense tan head. Almost burned aroma in nose. Full and dry palate. Hops, roasted malts and lots of bitterness in taste. Sligtly boring. Ok aftertaste.

On tap at the Porterhouse on Nassau Street in Dublin. Pours a heavy, opaque black with a bright white, creamy head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, toast and grain. The flavor is similar, sweeter with less roasted flavor. Finish is creamy and thick but not syrupy. Very well crafted beer, good session beer and probably their flagship next to the plain porter.

On tap at the Porterhouse on Nassau street in Dublin. Never has a beer delivered more directly on it’s promise than this beer. Pours a translucent, watery black with a soft, creamy white head. Aroma is sweet and chocolaty. Flavor is exactly like putting a well crafted chocolate truffle in your mouth, soft, creamy, slightly grainy, sweet but not overpowering with a touch of bitter cocoa. Soft, easy finish.

On tap at the Porterhouse on Nassau street in Dublin. Probably the only dissappointing beer I had from them. Pours a translucent copper brown with a thin white head. Aroma was slight lemon zest and some spice. Flavor was a little weak, very thin malts, citrus zest and spice. Finish was weak and watery. I was expecting a strong English style bitter and got a mild, light beer that missed the mark.

On tap at Porterhouse in Dublin. Had a few pints of this late one Saturday night and it knocked me on my ass. Translucent copper, red with a creamy white head. Aroma was mild with some sweet malts mixed with some fruity hops, nothing jumps out at you. Flavor is well balanced, sweet caramel and grainy malts, cookies and biscuits, mangoes, and sweet citrus fruits. Very easy finish, slightly thick. Strongest beer on tap but maybe the easiest to drink. That combo left me with quite a headache the next day.

Bottle: Dark brown pour with a nice sized tan head. Aroma is roasty and sweet, light cocoa and coffee. Flavor is again roasty and sweet with a bittersweetness too. The roast is just right and really takes the center of the brew. Thanks BuckDich.
