Clear deep amber color with a medium white head that recedes quickly. Stringy lacing. Aroma of malt, fruit and hops. Light-bodied with flavors of overripe fruit, minerals and toffee. The finish is metallic and fruity. Not an enjoyable beer.

From a 345 ml bottle served in a cafe by the Sydney harbor. Pours a pale gold with an off white head. Malty nose. Flavors of biscuit with some subtle fruit notes. Clean crisp finish.

Bottle, 11C. Clear amber with a puffy white head. Aroma is grassy and earthy with caramel and peach. Carbonation is too high. Light bodied, pretty dry with modest bitterness that builds a bit. Light toffee, some peach, floral and spicy notes in the dry finish. A second glass and the palate is seeming a bit empty, which is a problem for this sort of thing. But it’s not bad at all.

Bottle, 0.345l. Clear pale amber color with medium creamy off-white head and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of caramel malt, nuts, toffee and fruits. Taste starts with moderate sweet toasted malt with nutty hints, fruity following and mild bitter finish. Medium body, slick texture and lively natural carbonation in palate. Best Aussie beer so far..

(Bottle) Cloudy golden yellow with nice dense white head. Aroma is hard to pin down because there is quite a lot going on and it evolved: there’s some banana ester, some peppery spice, some citrus / lime, and the faintest hnt if maybe rubber. Medium bodied with soft velvety carbonation. Flavour is pleasant and refreshing with lime and peppery spice being the dominant tastes with a citrusy start with peppery notes changing into a peppery finish with citrusy notes. Along the way other tastes join in, particularly some biscuity malt in the mid palate. An unusual take on a witbier, pleasant, maybe a little strange.

From a 345ml bottle on 26/1/2014. pours a clear deep golden with a small head. Has a pleasant enough floral, fruity nose. Taste wise, you get some pronounced nutty malt and sweet citrus and stone fruit, and satisfying medium bitterness. Has a medium body and relatively lively carbonation. This is rather flavour packed for something that’s just 3.4%. Great to know you could sink a number of these at a bbq and still be good to drive. In my opinion, one of the better Squire’s I’ve tried (I’d take one of these over their over-rated pilsener or dull pale ale any day).
