Bottled. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma has strong notes of wood, roasted malt, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, and alcohol as well as a bit of chocolate, leading to a dry roasted finish.

33 cL bottle. Pours dark black with a small tan head. Aroma is fruity and hppy, roasted malty. Dry and roasted malty into the far finish. Lingering roasted and solid hoppy dry.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup/yespr. Pours an opaque dark brown with a dense brownish head. Aroma of vanilla and roasted malts. Medium body, hard roasted malts and vanilla with quite an astringent malt finish. Nice one. 161209

Bottle. The color was dark brown with hints of red. The foam was a few centimeters high, compact. A lot of hops and citrus in the aroma as well as cardboard and cakes. The taste was not bad, dark chocolate, grape, licorice, grass also a slight acidity. What bothered me a little was the somehow "rude" bitterness that existed in the finish.

Bottle. Very dark, almost pitch black. The brown foam was very large but did disappear fairly quickly. The aroma was light roasted malt with chocolate and something resembling grass. The flavor contained dried fruit, a little citrus, weak coffee tones, chocolate and some nuts, especially in the rather bitter aftertaste. A nice porter with a nice mouthfeel, a bit creamy. Liquid was dry. Not bad.

Dark brown color, big creamy beige head, lace. Some ryebread and chocolate in the nose. Sweet caramelly flavor, some licorice, ryebread and then hoppy bitterness in the finish. Licorice in the aftertaste. Nice to see that Sigtuna’s quality is improved a lot.

Bottle. Black. Brown head. Hoppy grassy aroma with a touch of chocolate. Easy to drink, refreshing, yet complex taste. Needle hops and chocolate, coffee and licorice in balance.

Christmas tasting 2009-11-27 AR: ginger, mulled wine, clove AP: black body, fudge brown head F: ginger, mulled wine, clove, this one was too spicy and a bit hollow 2008 edition Gyllene mörk bärnsten/Vanilj fudge skum. Doftar av oblandad svartvinbärssaft eller körsbär. Smak lätt sötma, komplex många smaker, ingen av ingredienserna (kornmalt, muskot, kanel, pomerans, kryddnejlika och kardemumma) kommer fram tydligt, man måst äta något till denna dryck. Eftersmak - frukten är tillbaka igen 2008-12-13 betyg 4:?.
