On tap at 5Tapper Blenheim, pours a clear amber with some lacey white head. Nose has malt, cracker, dough, some herbal hop, some soap. Flavor has the same. Some tea here, root veg too. Finishes just off dry with a lick of bitterness. 6 4 6 3 12

On tap at the brewpub, straight from the keg on an impromptu tour from the very friendly brewer. Pours reddish orange. Blackberry, sharp rosé acidity, lemon, touch of wit character, good fruitiness. Medium body. Very enjoyable.

On tap at the brewery. Pours gold. Rose, sharp lemon juice, Turkish delight, orange peel, very light touch of that eggy bread note that I hate in kettle sours ruins the finish somewhat. Medium body that could take a few more bubbles. Reasonably good.

On tap at the brewery. Pours gold. Chalk, peach, apricot syrup, metal, biscuit. Medium body. Worldwide XPA seems to be quite a badly defined thing, but in New Zealand there seems to be a convergence onto something I just don't like.
