Description
Early in the 21st century, a vision was born. A dream to unite the land of brews, bring harmony to all who pledged their strength… and make some damn good beer. They who had the vision started the journey and thus began the story… nay… the legend of Bombastic Brewing.

Bombastic Brewing began in 2016. Inspired by the scale of Sierra Nevada, the “gypsy” model of Mikkeller, the business model of early Sam Adams, and the opportunity to make a positive impact in the world through craft beer, Russell Mann sold his retail beer business and set out to create an interesting craft brewery, built in a different model: Partner Brewing.

He took on two co-founders, and being thwarted from Partner Brewing by Johnny Law, Bombastic pivoted and started brewing on a 30, then 50 gallon system in a garage-style facility by the airport. Bombastic would roll open the big garage doors every Saturday to welcome the brave craft beer enthusiasts who showed up and had a great time, buying out every release.

Tavour: dark brown with beige head. Aroma is toasted caramel with some nice smokiness. Taste is smokey, but not overly so. Sweet, but jot cloying. Malty. Booze is well covered. Quite good.

Can from Tavour. Pours dark brown with a moderate creamy tan head. Aroma of dark malt and treacle. Arguably full bodied. Flavor is roasty darkmalt, treacle, a lot of medium dark plummy fruit aspects (tho not fruit), and a light touch of peat. Heat is barely detectable. Overall in a blind tasting I might call it a plummy quad. Excellent.

16oz can. Very dark brown pour, just a brief wispy tan head. Orange and dark chocolate aromas. Sweet and roasty, just short of candyish. Flavors are more orange and tootsieroll notes. Some sweetness but not overly. Great dessert sipper.

Medium brown, the aroma and palate are big cinnamon, basically thin, so it comes across like horchata, so it's decent, drinkable, but light and not especially complex. The ancho is worth something, but this requires residual sugars.

16 oz. can, pours a deep dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is dominated by the chili peppers and cinnamon, followed by subtle cocoa and vanilla. Flavour is very thin, dominated by cinnamon and chili. The palate is extremely thin; there’s little body and complexity. For an adjunct impie, this is pretty sad. Thin, lacking depth. This needs to go back to the drawing board.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 01/03/2025). Dark brown with small beige head. Ancho, chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, feint cayenne, thinner bodied, feint molasses. Average.

16oz can. Pours dark brown with minimal head. Cacao, cinnamon, chillies, and vanilla on the nose. Flavour has lots of cinnamon up front, notes of cacao and vanilla, and a low-to-moderate heat from the chillies on the finish. Fairly thin body. Pretty uninteresting and gimmicky.

16oz can from Boise Co-op. Cloudy golden pour, fizzy head disappears immediately. Tropical, fruity aroma, guava, tart. Taste is tropical, passion fruit definitely, guava, tart, a hint of milk sugar and some residual saltiness

16 oz. can. Pricy purchase from Tavour. Aroma is both vanilla and marshmallow. The flavor continues with huge marshmallow, very light coconut, and roasted malt. I really liked it for about 4 ounces.
Then it really starts to stack up with sweetness. Really rich.
