Description
Early in the 21st century, a vision was born. A dream to unite the land of brews, bring harmony to all who pledged their strength… and make some damn good beer. They who had the vision started the journey and thus began the story… nay… the legend of Bombastic Brewing.
Bombastic Brewing began in 2016. Inspired by the scale of Sierra Nevada, the “gypsy” model of Mikkeller, the business model of early Sam Adams, and the opportunity to make a positive impact in the world through craft beer, Russell Mann sold his retail beer business and set out to create an interesting craft brewery, built in a different model: Partner Brewing.
He took on two co-founders, and being thwarted from Partner Brewing by Johnny Law, Bombastic pivoted and started brewing on a 30, then 50 gallon system in a garage-style facility by the airport. Bombastic would roll open the big garage doors every Saturday to welcome the brave craft beer enthusiasts who showed up and had a great time, buying out every release.

Aroma is cinnamon out of the gate, followed by chocolate and roasty malt. Taste is bittersweet like dark chocolate and has a fairly spicy pepper heat. Highly carbonated—more than usual for an imperial stout. A little thin, but good flavors.

Aroma has notes of chocolate, caramel, orange. Taste is moderately sweet with some firm bitterness on the back end that builds on the palate. Prominent flavors of chocolate, orange, toffee, nutmeg, herbal hops. Softy carbonated.

16oz can from HomeBrewStuff clear redish amber pour. A brief tan skin of bubbles can be coaxed with an aggressive pour. Faint light toasted malt and some pale rip pitted fruit aromas. Flavors are similar but with some resinous hop bitterness crowding its way in for balance. Middle of the road, but smooth and balanced. Would not have guessed the high ABV

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is loaded with marshmallow, dark sugars, and a touch of gentle roast. Flavour is surprisingly soft on the palate -- courtesy of the marshmallow, I guess -- with dark sugars, marshmallow, roast, and a little molasses. It doesn't clobber you at all; it just aims for balance and drinkability despite the gravity and intensity. Very good.
