Day 3 of the post Xmas Bamberg Jolly, bottle from Rewe Bamberg shared on the train from Nuremberg to Freising, 26/01/14. Orange amber with a moderate off white head. Nose is bready, toffee, light orange. Taste comprises caramel, orange peel, bread dough, malt forward. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi dry close. Ok offering.

Bamberg Bash Day 3. Train swig. Almost clear deep amber beer, good pale cream coloured head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Sweetish malt. Fresh tasting dried fruits. Little floralness. Dry finish. Tasty enough.

0,5 l bottle with a good looking label art work. Darkest red brown in the glass, mighty tanned head. Fermented fruit and malt on the nose. Starts sweet smoky, very sweet. Banana and fruits with yeast. Mid alcoholic. Later lower sweetness, more resin, a little bit malty. Sticky. But good. Thanks to kappldav123 for that bottle.

Der Geruch ist eher neutral, nach nicht viel. Im Geschmack leicht laff-frisch --> ziemlich unauffällig-süffig. Ein bißchen nach Wasser mit Hefe. Kurzer, fruchtiger Abgang.

a) 0.5l swing-top bottle.
Geruch nach vergorener Banane - leicht auch nach Holz. Geschmack irgendwie nach "Chemie-Banane"; Assoziation: Hubba-Bubba Banane oder abgestandene, alte Bananenmilch mit Kinderschokolade. Es hat aber was - schön süffig-würzig. Lang anhaltender Nachgeschmack nach alter Banane. Schön hefig.

b) Schön feinporiger, stabiler Schaum. Bernsteinbraun und sehr trüb. Im Antrunk süffig-süßlich-würzig. Der Hauptteil wird vollmundiger, leicht säuerlich und schön hefig. Im Nachgeschmack mittellang und süßlich-hefig mit einem leicht malzigen Touch.
--> Ein sehr schönes Weizen, das für mich aber irgendwie unrund schmeckt. Es hat eine komisch-muffige Unternote, die sich aber noch im Rahmen hält. Dennoch gut. 10/12/10/10

Beim Öffnen der Flasche strömt ein süßlicher Geruch entgegen, der stark an Cola-Weizen erinnert. Im Geschmack ist es süß, sehr süß. Im Abgang leicht herb-muffig. Hat so ein Bißchen was von einem zu süßen Guinness, aber durchaus zum Probieren empfohlen!!

Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass a bit darker than exspected, nice head. Starts malty-yeasty, not too dry. Interesting hints of caramel. Mild fruity like apricot. Well balanced finish and quite drinkable. Good!
