(bottle) Cloudy, dark brown colour with a big and slowly lacing beige foamy head. Sweet and delicately toasted malty and wheaty aroma with pronounced fruity notes of dark berries, cassis and shy phenolic spices (cloves, vanilla). Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Toasty malty and wheaty taste with slightly sourish berry-fruity notes. Sweet and moderately fruity finish with light clove-spicy notes, which makes it pleasant to drink (18.II.09).

(Euro2 bottle) Cloudy, amber colour with a very huge and firm, slowly lacing off-white foamy head. Light-sweet, slightly wheaty, cara-malty aroma with a delicate apricot-fruity and herbal hoppy note. Moderately sweet flavour with a tinge of sourness, almost medium bodied with a slick mouthfeel. Wheaty and cara-malty base with distinctive apricot-fruity notes and a touch of banana; almost dry, wheaty and slightly citrousy hoppy finish with a delicate clovy spice. Well-balanced, and tasty Ur-Weizen (19.X.08).

Draught at some Pizzeria Trattoria in Lauf an der Pegnitz. OK banana aroma. Cloudy caramelly brown colour. Big stable creamy tan head. The flavour also has some banana. Quite sweet, butterscotch flavour. A standard dunkel or perhaps bernstein weizen.

Bottled. An unclear orange-brown beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, wheat, and bread as well as hints of banana. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of wheat and caramel as well as medium notes of bread and light notes of bananal, leading to a dry wheaty finish.

Etwas verbrannt malzig, eher lascher Nachgeschmack. 11/9/9/10/8/9

Fruchtiger, etwas kaffeartiger Geruch.
