440 ml can, as Disko St. Ruby Barrel Aged Quadrupel, from Vinmonopolet Madla. ABV is 11%. Cloudy brown colour, moderate to small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, solvent, fusel, alcohol, brown sugar. The flavour is not quite as sweet as I feared, and somewhat better balanced than the aroma. Notes of brown sugar, oak, dark dried fruits and caramel, hints of mild spices. Low bitterness.

October 2019: 330 ml can, as Disko Brutus Bayer, from Bris Ølutsalg, Jørpeland. ABV is 4.7%, IBU 25. Reddish brown colour, enormous beige head that lasts "forever", takes quite a while before I reach the beer underneath. Aroma of malts, brown bread and caramel. Malty flavour too, brown bread and caramel again. Fair enough.

440 ml can, as Disko Grande Vega Quadrupel, from Vinmonopolet Madla. ABV is 11.0%. Hazy brown colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Aroma of caramel, alcohol, molasses and brown sugar. Sweet boozy flavour, molasses, fusel, caramel, noticeable bittering hops. Unrefined, far from Trappist quality.

GYG 230324. Pale golden color with a white head. Aroma is fruit, malt, tropical fruit. Flavor is fruit, malt, tropical fruit, grass, pine. Ordinary beer.

Can. It's an unclear orange-yellow colored beer with a dense, finger-thick white head. The aroma has a delicious maltyness in the back, with orange, grapefruit, pine cones and resin. Not really alcoholic, but one can easily sense it's not a light beer. It's full-bodied and very lightly warming, softly carbonated and mostly dry on the palate, with a good bitterness. The flavor is pretty similar to the aroma, with a pleasant maltyness as a backdrop for citrusy hops. Grapefruit, orange, pine cones and a touch of melon and grapes. Lasting hop driven finish. A refreshing and quite tasteful one, easy drinkable. Doesn't feel very complex at first, but there's quite a lot going on anyway. 240408
