440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.5%. Slightly hazy amber to reddish brown colour, large white head. Malty aroma, notes of toffee and brown bread with syrup, distinct notes of coffee. Flavour of mild coffee, malts, toffee and caramel, not too sweet, a hint of dried dates. Very moderate hops. I was skeptical to adding coffee to an altbier, but it has been done with moderation, so the beer stands forth as pretty well balanced.

Pleasant and easy drinkable bock. Clear nutty pour and a fine head. Ok intensity in the aroma. Mellow sweetness and an ok bitterness. Also an ok carbonation level. Easy to drink. Fruity, herbal, toffee and bready flavor [Can from Gundersen Advent Calendar 23]

Can. A muddy yellow-orange colored beer with a big white head leaving lacing. The aroma is fruity, citrusy and piney, with a touch of pale malts and yeast. It’s medium to full-bodied, dry and nicely carbonated, with a good bitterness. Pine cones, orange and grapefruit, hints of grass and a touch of pale malts in the flavor. Medium length finish. Pleasant, tasteful and not Christmasy. 231125

Can. A mostly clear one, deep golden to copper in color, with a decent off-white head. Some lacing. The aroma is wort-driven, with some dark dried fruit and a touch of grass. It’s medium bodied and nicely carbonated, semi-dry and with a decent bitterness. Caramel, bread, wort and some fruityness. Medium length finish with more sweetness than initially. Not much interesting going on here, too much wort in the aroma, and also in the flavor. 231125
