330 ml bottle, batch #30, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6%. Brewed with coffee from St.Lucia, Carmo de Minas in Brazil (cold extracted, Sørlandets Kaffebrenneri). Black colour, huge tan head that lasts "forever", making it difficult to reach the beer below. Distinct aroma of coffee, prunes, liquorice, dark chocolate. Medium dry and roasty flavour, coffee notes but not too bitter. The other elements from the aroma are still there, but just as hints. Easy drinking, pleasant beer. Thumbs up for Qvart Ølkompani on this one.

330 ml bottle, batch #35, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.5%. Hops are Chinook, Columbus and Citra. Cloudy orange colour, huge and coarse white head that lasts "forever". Pleasant aroma of tropical fruits, citrus and pine. Plenty of carbonation in the mouth. The slightly sweet flavour has plenty of American hops too, might pass as an IPA. Piney / resinous notes, some grapefruit

Bottle. It’s a lightly hazy beer, deep golden in color and with a small, dense, off-white head on top. Some lacing. Citrusy nose, oranges and grapefruit, with some peaches, pineapple hints and a little bready malt touch. It’s more or less full-bodied, with a bit heavy carbonation and perhaps a tad too much sweetness. Still, it’s the citrusy, peachy hops that dominates. Some caramel maltyness in the back, along with a fine bitterness. Long hop driven finish. I wouldn’t mind even more hop focus in this one, and it’s a bit heavy on the co2, but it’s a tasteful and refreshing beer I haven’t drank for the last time. 160311

Fra fat på Cafe Sara. Gylden. Lavt skum som etterhvert blir til film. Tett lacing. Lettere uklar. Veldig god plommearoma. Smaker er plommer & mandarin. Blir syrlig etter hvert. Plommesmaken sitter i lenge.

Tap @ Kick. Unclear golden body with a firm, stable, lacing off-white head. Very nice aroma with strong citric fruit, grapefruit and mild caramel malt. Flavor is smooth, soft malt, light caramel, medium sweet, citric fruit, grapefruit and good bitterness. Fine balanced flavors, bitterness, sweetness and body with a pleasant, long lasting fruity bitter aftertaste. A really well made IPA with a balanced taste and high drinkability.

330 ml bottle. Slightly unclear brownish amber body with a nice, dense beige head. Nice aroma of caramel malt, toffee, toast and dry fruit. Flavor is close to perfect balancing between sweetness and bitterness, sweet malt, caramel, bitter hops with mature fruit and pine, slightly toasted, hint of dough. Balanced body and nice, long lasting aftertaste. Tasty, easy to drink and quite impressive balance for this low ABV.

Bottle, at Patrick’s. A big, dense off-white head forms over a hazy, dark orange-golden body. Some lacing. Tropical, pine aroma with some malts and a touch of bread and caramel. Orange zest. It’s full bodied, a bit heavy on the carbonation and quite dry. Some sweetness, but the bitterness wins. Tropical fruits, pine cones and some orange zest in the flavor. Long hop dominated finish. A tasteful and refreshing one, but a bit heavy on the carbonation. 160302

On tap at Både&. A black one, almost, topped by a small, dense dark beige head. The aroma is roasted and with a good dash of licorice. Wouldn’t mind more licorice though. Coffee and a bready touch. It’s full bodied, smooth and nicely carbonated, with a nice licorice flavor. Roasted malts, some burnt notes and hint of dried fruits and coffee. Lasting finish. Really fine this one. Not a quenching one, but dangerously easy drinkable and very tasteful. 160227
