Bottle, at Patrick’s. A black one, more or less, with a nice dense light tan head. The aroma is roasted and rye-ish, with dark heavy caramel sauce, some rye bread and a touch of oranges. It’s full bodied and quite sweet, with lots of dark flavors. Molasses, roasted malts, some coffee and licorice and a heavy caramel flavor with a hint of dark rye bread. Some oranges and pine cones. Lasting finish. Takes a few sips to get used to but it’s a fine one indeed. 160227

Bottle. It’s an unclear brown beer with a reddish tint and a dense, two-finger light beige head leaving some lacing. The piney, resiny hops hit the nose first, followed by orange zest, caramel and roasted malt notes. Vague hints of dark dried fruits too. It’s a bit thin on the palate, not bad considering the strength though, it’s nicely carbonated and semi-dry. Some sweetness in the mouth, and a nice bitterness level, with notes of roasted malts, toast, orange and blue grapes. A hearty dose of pine cones makes the beer more interesting. Lasting roasted, caramel finish with the piney, bitter hops dominating. A quite pleasant one, wouldn’t mind a tad more body though. Was nice with my nachos plate though. 160226

On tap @ Patricks. Clear, deep, deep brown, practically black with a nice, lacing beige head. Strong and rich aroma of dark malt and chokolate. Flavor is very smooth, dark, mild roasted malt, some dark fruit and lots of dark chokolate with a hint of toffee. Balanced bitterness and sweet without feeling to sweet. Fine balanced body and long lasting, good aftertaste. Very nice, tasty and dangeriously easy drinkable porter.

On tap at Håndverkerstuene, Oslo. Pours close to black with a lasting, black head. Roasty aroma with wooden notes, dark chocolate and hints of licorice. Moderate sweet, with fairly mild flavours and a certain dryness in the finish. Pleasant stuff!

On tap @ Både &. Dark brown, close to black with a medium sized, lacing tan head. Rather light in aroma, dark malt, slightly roasted with a hint of liqurice. Flavor is sweet, dark, mild toast and a lot more liqurice than expected from aroma. Nice balanced body with a long and sweet aftertaste that seems to highlight the liqurice flavor even more. A nice and well balanced liqurice stout that gives the flavor away without overdoing. It’s probably possible to drink this beer with burgers etc, whitout distroying the food and still have the liqurice flavor relativly evident. Quite pleasant.

On tap at Både&. A dense white head sits on top of an almost clear golden body. Lots of peaches and tropical fruits in the aroma. Passion fruit, grapefruit hints and mango. It’s full bodied and nicely carbonated with a pleasant bitterness. Semi dry. Mango, grapefruit and peaches, and some malty sweetness in the back. Lasting tropical fruit finish. Lovely and quenching. Refreshing. Wouldn’t mind this one on bottles. 160213

On tap at Café Sara, Oslo. Clear golden with a modest, white head. Rather fruity aroma, mostly tropical fruits, not so much citrus, some malty notes and caramel too. Moderate to medium sweet with mild fruity and hoppy flavours and a pleasant, but fairly mild bitterness. Easy to drink and quite pleasant, but a I’m a little bit disappointed.

Flaske 330ml - batch 38 - fra Meny Oslo City. Delt med Rune på Nerstranda. Mørk amber. Middels høyt tett skum som daler sakte. Litt lacing. OK karamellaroma. Smaken karamell med fruktige undertoner. I søtligste laget - men ville nok passet godt til mat. Uklar siste kvelling.
