On tap at Ølfestivalen, Nærbø. An unclear, brown beer topped by a small, dense, beige head. Roasted malts and a faint touch of berries in the aroma. Some dark toffee and a vague touch of dried fruits too. Roasted malts, a touch of berries and berry acidity, a subtle and suiting bitterness, some toffee and prunes in the flavor. It’s dry and medium bodied, with a lasting finish. A quite unusual one, but also lovely. 151017

On tat at Bergen Ølfestival. An almost clear one, dark golden in color and with a dense, light beige head of two-finger size. Peachy, syrupy aroma with canned tropical fruits. There’s a fine bitterness in the mouth, it’s full-bodied and nicely carbonated, but a tad too sugary I think. Still the flavor is more interesting than the aroma. Peaches and canned tropical fruits flavor that lasts for a while. A bit sweetish this one I think, but that’s just my opinion. We had several customers at the festival that loved it. I prefer my IPA’s dried and more piny. 150904

On tap at Kristiansand Ølfestival. A yellow-colored, unclear beer with a small, dense, white head. Lemon and generic citrus dominates the aroma, with barnyard hints, coriander and some light biscuity, wort-like malts. It’s tart and medium bodied with a nice carbonation level, and some pale malts in the flavor, but it’s mostly on the lemony side, with coriander quite evident. Not much saltyness, and just a faint but pleasant lacto-touch. Lasting lemony finish. A beer that won my heart immediately after the first sip, it’s so damn easy drinkable and quenching, it’s like drinking a beery lemonade, only in a good way, and it has improved over the next batches. Two weeks after this festival I spend most of the time at Bergen Ølfestival pouring this beer, which quickly became the buzzbeer of that festival. It’s moments like that you live for when pouring beer instead of just drinking it. 150822

On tap at Kristiansand Ølfestival. It’s a lightly unclear golden colored beer topped by a dense, off-white head leaving lacing. Peaches, pineapple and some pine cones and resin in the aroma. Rather low on maltyness, both on the nose and palate. It’s full-bodied, nicely carbonated and quite dry, with peachy, pineapple-ish hops and a good bitterness. Lasting bitter and fruity finish with a dry ending. Sure a beer that would be nice to see in the regular lineup. 150822

On tap at Kristiansand Ølfestival. It’s a lightly foggy golden colored beer with a dense off-white head. Belgian style fruityness, with some spiced, yeasty hints and quite a lot of peaches. Some pine cones. It’s medium to full bodied with a nice carbonation level. Semi-dry, with flavors of peaches and pine cones up front and some pale malts and a yeast touch in the back. Lasting finish. Sure a nice blend of beers, refreshing and tasteful. Pity there isn’t more of this. 150822

Bottle. A clear, deep reddish brown beer topped by a dense, two-finger dark beige head leaving some sexy curtains in my glass. The aroma is dominated by toffee, with some wort and crystal malt notes in the back. Some dried figs as well. It’s full-bodied, soft and smooth, still with too much carbonation I think. Roasted malts and toffee followed by dried figs, some faint wort notes and dark bread. Not too bitter in any way, nor too sweet. Sort of dryish on the palate actually. Long roasted, toffee-ish finish with dried fruits and bread. Not bad at all, but as all or most Christmas beers at store strength, I think it lacks quite a bit to qualify as a real Christmas beer. Better stick to what’s available at Vinmonopolet. 151111

On tap at Haandverkeren. A clear copper colored beer with a small light beige head. Some lacing. The aroma is of the malty kind, bready, with caramel and some dried fruits. Grassy hops in the back. It’s dry and full bodied with a nice carbonation level. Bread, light toffee and a nice bitterness oh the flavor, pine cone hints and some grass too. Bread, toffee and dried fruits blend nicely with some hoppy flavors in the end. A well brewed beer indeed, but not the kind of beer I prefer for a drinking session. Did one anyway. 151031

Bottle. Quite fizzy opening, leaving an almost see through golden-orange beer with a collapsing white head. Nice curtains. The aroma has a distinct wort touch which is mostly cloaked under the tropical fruits from the hops. Passion fruit, oranges and some peach notes. There’s a light bitterness in the mouth, it’s rather effervescent, and quite dry. Medium bodied, with lots of tropical fruit flavors and some wort like malts as a distant backdrop. Mostly fruity finish too. Well, I’m not very fond of the maltyness in this one, else it’s a tasteful and easy drinkable beer. Gonna have a few more anyway I guess. 151029

On tap at Kick. A witbier with Citra hops. An unclear orange colored beer with a small, off-white head. Lacing. Very fruity aroma with some rhubarb hints. Orange notes, some pale malts, generic tropical fruits and a faint hint of cat pee, in a nice way. Pea notes. It’s medium to full bodied, soft and nicely carbonated, with a nice bitterness. Fruity flavor with some tropical fruits, some coriander and rhubarb. Lasting fruity finish. Tasteful, easy drinkable, refreshing and moreish. 150723

On tap at Bakgården Både&. A lightly hazy orange colored beer with a small white head. Pale malts, some sulphur, fruits and a grassy touch. It’s medium bodied, dry and smooth on the palate, with a very soft bitterness. Pale malts, grass, hay and some fruity sweetness in the flavor. Lasting finish that is on the fruity side. Easy drinkable but rather boring this one, but that’s what Både& wanted so it turned out just the way it was supposed to. 150723
