Draft @ Rustico Restaurant, Alexandria, VA. Pours a pale amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy aroma. Fruity malty hoppy grapefruit flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter finish.

Sampled at the NoVa Summer Beer Fest in Leesburg, VA on 6/25/11. Pours a hazy golden orange color with a medium frothy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of bread, citrus and clove. The taste is citrus, bread, spices and apples. Medium bodied. Quite refreshing.

Sampled at the NoVa Summer Beer Fest in Leesburg, VA on 6/25/11. Pours a hazy orange color with a very large offwhite creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of big earthy hops. The taste is bitter earthy, resiny hops with caramel malts. Medium bodied. Lingering bitterness. Nice beer.

Sampled at the NoVa Summer Beer Fest in Leesburg, VA on 6/25/11. Sampled repeatedly in fact. Also, my 4000th rating! Pours a clear golden amber color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention, nice lacing. Aroma of earthy hops with a strong caramel backbone. The taste is earthy, citrus hops with a malty background. Medium bodied. Very nice beer.

R.F.D., DC tap ($4hh): Pours a reddish color with a nice somewhat thick white head. Aroma is of citrus and pine hops and sugary malts. Taste is very well-balanced with a good amount of bitterness, but a strong malt backbone providing some mollifying sweetness. Body is also quite nice and very drinkable. Miles better than the APA they make.

Draft at Churchkey. Cloudy golden color, medium white head that settles very quickly. Aroma of bread dough. Taste is nicely aggressive lemon pepper with plenty of malts. Bitter and slightly dry finish. Very nice.

Location: On tap at Churchkey, 6/12/11

Aroma: This beer has a rather hoppy aroma made up mostly of resin and pine
Appearance: It pours a clear orange color with a thick and foamy white head and lot of lace
Flavor: The flavor is rather hoppy, some sweetness and a biting hop finish, it is resiny throughout
Palate: This one is kind of sticky, it is medium bodied, and it has a fairly soft carbonation
Overall Impression: It is very exciting to me, as someone who was a long time resident of the area, to see DC get a new brewery. Now if this brewery produces other beers as good as their IPA, they will quickly and easily become the best brewery in DC (not that it is all that difficult). Well done DC Brau! Very nice IPA, and welcome to the DC beer scene!

Umm... Rating #1800 for me too. Tap at Churchkey. Poured a light copper color, with a small, thick white head. Aroma was pine, grapefruit, other various citrus as well. Flavor was grapefuit, pine, bitter hops, malt backing. Very good offering.

Rating #1800. Pours a translucent burnt orange with a lacing, creamy, white head. Nose is nice, lots of C hops, pine, grapefruit, lemon, resinous hops. Flavor is aggressively bitter, lemon rind, grapefruit, pine sap. The Columbus hops really shine through. Full bodied, bitter finish. Fresh, zesty, sessionable for an IPA lover.
