10oz long thin tulip glass. Beer pours beautifully with a frothy head and a definitely unfiltered, dark orange color that allows little clarity. Aroma is fresh and crisp with tangy, light, citrus hops. The hops are accompanied well in the flavor with a malt backbone that is present but does not get in the way of the hops. Goes down easy.

Similar score, the floral/herbal hops work well with this malt bill as well.
Calypso
This was by far the least interesting. It felt like there were less hops or the hops were more subtle, can’t pinpoint exactly the defining character of this hop.

growler @ Dog Days of Summer Gathering. reddish color, light tan head. plenty of caramel malts, forward booze, dark fruits, molasses with mild hop bitterness. Enough malt to balance everything out, leaving the hop bitetrness to be a little in hindsight. Carbonation was thin.

Shaker pint pour at BRGR in Prairie Village, Kansas. Pour is clear golden (a shade darker than a normal golden, not quite copper), with a nicely formed one inch pure white head. A couple of fine carbonation bubbles float there way to the top of the glass. Aroma is bready and crackery malt, along with a nice waft of earthy spicy Saaz hops. Nice balance on the nose. Taste is really nice balance between the clean crack and bready malt and the mildyly spicy earthy Saaz hops. Palate is medium to thin bodied, nice lifting carbonation and a clean crisp mineral finish. This was a really clean and tasty Pils. Nice to see it on draft nearby.

Growler courtesy of mreusch, thanks Matt! Pours dark mahogany with ruby edges and thin tan head. The aroma is a bit mild with some roast, some chocolate notes and a touch of caramel and toffee. As it warms a pleasing thin layer of earthiness is noticed. The taste is pretty darn smooth and near creamy at times bringing in notes of dark roasted malts and then moving into a nice mix of black licorice, chocolate and earthiness. The more I drink this the more I like it.

Via csbosox by way of a keg he bought of this. Pour is a perfectly clear golden with a one inch white head. Head falls pretty quick with some light lace. Aroma of very soft cereal grain, some light grainy malt, and not much else. Very faint nose. Taste picks up some from the nose, with a nice natural tasting cereal grain maltiness and a nice transition to floral and earthy hops. There is a really nice bright mineral aspect to the aftertaste that works for me. Palate is light bodied, nice level of carbonation and a clean mineral dry aftertaste which begs for the next sip. Nice one, good balance, clean and easy to drink - though I wish the nose had been a bit more assertive. Thanks for sharing some of the keg, Chris.

10oz tulip fill at the brewpub, fressshhhh. Its a clear orange/amber color with a nice frothy head that leaves a decent lacing as I drink it. The beer is hop centric (of course). Not too familiar with citra hops but they were not too different that most American hops. Either way its very clean, no unnecessary maltiness getting in the way. A good medium bitterness cuts through the flavor of the beer and lasts for a while. The hops are generally orange/tangerine citric.

Picked this growler up to share at a party. And again as last time I was the only one drinking this. Its a dark golden/orange clear color. The beer is basically a white bread malts and medium-light herbal hops. Its really not different from their previous pils (Post Rock), just less hoppy and a different hop (I think). Its got a particularly nice biscuit-like maltiness in the flavor. This is the counterpart of the hoppy pils, its the nicely white-bread malts pils. I can drink this all night (after I am tired of ales and/or strong lagers).

Growler consumed soon after fill up. Color is clear brownish-amber. Aroma is dank hops, think hops grown in a basement. Its green-vine hops that aren’t bright. Flavor is more dank hops with a medium bitterness and a leaf-hop finish and aftertaste. Its a dank IPA, not much more I can say about that. Now sweet malt getting in the way. I don’t really pick up any rye but that is not easy for me to do in general. Its an IPA, it is what it is.

Shaker @ the brewpub. The beer is a copper color with a strong sticky head. The head has good retention and rings are formed as I gulp the beer down, akin to the age rings on a tree stump. Aroma has a great bitter, herbal hop aroma. I love it. Its a clean lager with bitter herbal hops; awesome. The slight difference here is a bit of sweetness, just a bit coming off the malt. Flavor has a great bitter herbal hop flavor as well mixed with that light sweetness. Otherwise it is all clean, nothing else coming off the malt.
Bottom line: Just a simple, clean beer with an herbal hop center and a light malt sweetness.

Shaker from cask @ the brewpub. Pours with a beautiful thick head that sticks around. The body is a dark brown color. The beer has been dramatically affected by the barrel aging. It has taken on a very fruity barrel aspect that has come to dominate the beer. It is also thinned out a bit because of this. I can still pick up some old hops in there. Its cool to drink but I would just call this a fruity barrel beer.
