Description
The history of the brewery "Opillia" begins in the 19th century, from its foundation in 1851. Then the owner was Samson Goldberg, and later daughter Amalia Goldberg, whose name became one of the main elements on the beer label of this brewery. It was the first large brewery in Ternopil with a steam engine and the only one that has been operating since then.

500ml bottle, drank on 19th August 2025. Poured into an old Corsendonk stemmed tulip glass at my daughters place in Laguna Hills.Slight haze in the dull golden body, wisp and collar only, no real head (think this might be old). Malty, grainy, corny and not that great to be honest!

Half-litre bottle from the Old World Village in Huntington Beach. Drank by the pool at my daughters place in Laguna Hills on 6th August 2025. Clean and almost clear golden body, lasting white crown. Slightly sweet with the pale malts being stronger than the hop content. Not much of an aroma and I have a feeling this was fairly old (no BBD on the bottle).

Brown half litre bottle from the Old World Village (Huntington Beach). Drank on 5th August 2025 at my daughters in Laguna Hills. No best before date on the bottle and I think it might have been skunked, as well as being old! Poured a misty dull amber, fast fading white head. Soft malty front, mild hop content, slightly sweet in nature. Scored kindly.

Dark amber in color, beige head, medium-sized, small, quickly dissipating, with pinpoint lacing.
Aroma: brown sugar, caramel, cola, and a touch of wet cardboard.
Taste: dark bread, burnt bread crust, caramel, sourness, low, short-lasting bitterness. Nothing extraordinary, but drinkable.
