Taster at the Grayson Exhibit A(le). Pours almost clear, straw color, with a small, white head. Nose is lemongrass, cloves, pine sap, and lavender. Sweet and malty, with a bright, citrusy bitterness. Medium body, sticky, and grainy. Quality, aromatic, and clean.

Taster at the Grayson Exhibit A(le). Pours a clear, bronze color, with no head. The aroma is apple, cinnamon, lemon peel, and rubber. Sweet and sugary, with a light, rank bitterness. Light, slick, and acerbic. Weak and unpleasant.

Very fruit-forward for a pils, with bright notes of stone fruit and pineapple and a yeasty back end. Misses the grainy crispness of a solid pilsner, but still a nice pint.

Offers up expected banana-clove-wheat notes of a traditional saison, but with an expanded fruitiness I’m guessing owes to the fancy yeast. Easygoing, drinkable pint.

Very much a Cherry Street IPA, with an overhopped funkiness mixed with dank, papaya, grapefruit, and a vegetal undercurrent. Finishes with a mild piney bitterness. I wish it was more Piedmont than Cherry Street.

Good, but missing depth. Notes of bakers chocolate, dried cherries, and coffee, with cascara and a minor dark roast bitterness on the finish. Hits the bases, but never quite gets as rich and roasty as you want.

Light and crisp, with a wicked dose of Galaxy hops adding a nice orange and pine backbone to the gentle grainy sweetness. Finishes with a lingering hop bitter streak; not quite as clean as you want with a rice lager. Not bad, though.
