Bottled from local Mitra. Clear dark brown color, thick creamy brown head. Aroma of spicy belgian yeast, red fruit like grapes and cherry, raisin, grapes. Some biscuit and cookie as well. Taste is quite sweet, but also dry. Again I get a lot of cookie maltiness and raisins, like in the best of the Abt beers. I suspect loads of special B malt. Finishes slightly bitter even. Soft alcohol burn, but very well hidden. This is seriously a great brew in tradition of the best of dark belgian strong ales. Top notch.

Bottled. Cloudy golden colour with a white head with good duration and perfect lacework. Aroma is malty, yeasty with citrus notes. Flavor is slightly bittery, coriander, yeast and fruity hints. Dry and sweet final with a light alcoholic sensation. Very high carbonation.

Amber-cream, huge & dense head over fully hazy mahogany beer. Alcohol & melanoidins, dry & dark green leaves, bit bready. Sugarsyrup, molasses. Drier than the nose suggested, but still quite sweet. Speculoosspices, bit peppery, gingerbread. Dried black prunes. Very carbonated feel, slick and even viscous; alcoholwarming present, and for a long time after swallowing. Sweet, spicy and strong, but not very original. At least, it appears well-made.

33cl bottle, bbe 03/14. Dark mahogany, thick lasting beige head. Aroma has caramel, spicyness, brown sugar and toasted malt. Nice. Flavor quite similar, moderately sweet, caramelly, spicy, light alcohol burnt in the finish. Liked this dubbel, not too sweet either. Nicely balanced. More please!
