Ruby red coloured, small airy pale pink head, dry blackcurrant and meat in the nose. Pretty the same in the taste with more pronounced artificial sweetness. Repulsive radler.

0.5l can from Graz. Poured a ruby red colour with a pink head. Meaty blackcurrant nose. I don’t like blackcurrant. Milt blackcurrant taste, not as bad as the taste. Again, I don’t like blackcurrant. This’d probably make for a good drink for someone who likes his/her radlers beerless in taste and for someone who likes blackcurrant. Unfortunately, I don’t. So don’t take my rating entirely seriously.

Das Bier wurde beim "European Beer Star" 2017 als bestes Bier in der Kategorie "German-Style Helles/Lager" ausgezeichnet, was natürlich von der Brauerei beworben wird.
Das Bier ist wirklich nicht schlecht, aber es ist und bleibt ein Industriebier, an dem sich auch die Obdachlosen in Wien erfreuen. Aus den Craftbierschmieden und Gasthausbrauereien kommt aber besseres.
Alternativ erhältlich im X-Field in Wien: Das X-ield ist das klassische Lagerbier und quasi Hausbier des Lokals und überzeugt durch Bodenständigkeit und Spritzigkeit. Es erinnert in das klassische Ottakringer. Nix spezielles, aber angenehm zu trinken und sehr solide. Ein Bier, das von Wien bis Canberra alle zufrieden stellen kann.

Can from Billa, Hainburg. Ruby color with small beige head. Black currant in aroma and taste. No hops, no malt. Quite refreshing but definitely not beer.

12/03 0.5 l can left from trip to Graz. It poured golden body with small medium sized head. Stinky corny aroma. Alcoholic and slightly lemony flavor, in the backgound typical honey malty, resembles to a bock, but it’s only 5% ABV! Watery though, which didn’t stop its long sweet corny finish. Crap in every way.

Can from somewhere in Graz, Austria, shared with heavy. Actually refrained from buying it the first time I saw it, thinking it was just a relabel of the regular Ottakringer. It probably is a relabel of something, but not that one. Anyway. Pale golden colour, small white head. Olives and malt in the nose, stale carboard, blah. Typical Austrian macro lager in the taste, filled with pollen, only more dull and softer than most. Sweetish and soapy. No.

Dieses Bier gab es lange Zeit als Edelbier bevor es noch den Begriff des Craftbiers gab. Die Goldfassl-Reiehe wurde aufwändig erneuert bzw. wiederbelebt, aber dieses finde ich nicht mehr. Vielleicht wurde es doch noch eingestellt. Es war nicht übel, aber auch nicht allzu speziell. Es hatte einen vollen Körper und hopfige Spitzen, wodurch es einen edlen, schlanken Charakter hatte.

Ultimately abhorrent, very sweet lemony flavor with very long (unfortunately) artificial and industrial lemony finish, which becomes bitter at the very end. Too artificial, and too crappy, even for radler standards!

22/01 0.5 l bottle somewhere from Graz. It poured pale golden body with medium sized head. Boring, cheap grainy and dusty aroma. Lemony, slightly eggy and grainy flavor as well. Very watery, almost bland in finish, except some ugly bitterish cardboard finish. Crap, of course.
