Tap at Pivo na Náplavce 2023. Went for it as it apparently got some extra special golden grand award at some German beer competition in Frankfurt - the extra bitter lager was good, this should be too, right? Wrong. Looked good though, clear golden body, white head. Citra does come up over some light maltiness... but then there's the diacetyl too as well. Not sure if this is another batch or they really love their diacetyl in Frankfurt, but certainly not something I like in my Citra-driven beers. Diacetyl dominates the taste, with some citric, lightly herbal and grape notes, along with a light bitterness coming along later. I mean, this would be a solid SMASH if it wasn't diacetyl-riddled, and I can see it faring well if it wasn't diacetyl-riddled. However, it was diacetyl-riddled - and I hope that the awards will make these people avoid issues like this... as they CAN brew a good beer!

Tap at Pivo na Náplavce 2023. Clear full golden body, thick off-white head. Herbal, perfumey aroma, bit malty. Sweetish yeasty taste, a pleasant herbal hoppy presence, bit meaty but survivable, the maltiness is clean at least. Good bitterish finish. I liked it in the end!

Bottle by MisoW. Aroma spicy hoppy, honeyish malt, some DMS. Hazy deep golden colour. Taste shows balanced hops and toasty malt, light DMS in finish. Overall still good, but get rid of the DMS and it will be very good.
