bottle @ Tampa xmas gathering. pours reddish brown, no head. aroma and flavor, yep, we have a sour bomb, palate has hints of peppery sourness possibly from the wood, mild cherry tartness with lingering vinegar acidic finish.

I know, a saison with raw coffee beans doesn’t sound that good, but it is – a unique combination of wit-ish tartness and wheaty tang, combines with toasted grains and mild coffee bean flavors to surprisingly interesting effect, and the vanilla works quite well with the coffee, too – a wee bit of spicy character and rustic earthiness – lingering coffee – finishes with a cleansing tartness – quite nice. 747414

I’m not a huge fan of dubbels, but this one was nice - a clean sugar sweetness that tastes more like cane sugar than candi sugar - a hint of fruity esters - light doughy character - some spice and nuttiness - toasted grains - a little too filtered, so it doesn’t have that nice yeasty kick you want in a belgian dubbel, but still fairly tasty. 746413

This one kind of bored me - it certainly is one for the maltheads, and there is a strong yet clean sweetness that dominates the beer - some roasted nuts, caramel, lightly toasty finish - not much happening here.

A straightforward, wonderfully dry and vibrant IPA, with strong bitterness and peppery character - some citrus sweetness through the middle, but mostly dry, with a touch of toasted grain in the finish - lingering spicy hops - quite nice.

A light-bodied, medium-bitter stout, with a hint of roast and a light touch of coffee that compliments the hop profile and moderate roasted character - a mild vanilla sweetness and chocolate malt in the finish - decent, but one of my least favorite here so far.

Growler via a trade with beerandblues2. Pours with a small tan head over a dark brown body. Aroma of espresso, chocolate, dark fruits, coffee beans, and vanilla. Taste is somewhat watery with note of espresso, light chocolate and vanilla bean. Water like mouthfeel and light carbonation.

Growler via a trade with beerandblues2. Pours with a small white head over a hazed yellow body. Aroma of honey, floral, coriander, vanilla, light banana esters and apple. Taste is wheat with vanilla, banana and spice. Lively mouthfeel.
