Tap at Vine Street - was not a huge fan of this one - yeast character was muted, aside from some bright estery notes on the tail end - flavor was mostly toasty grains, with a lot of huskiness throughout - fairly dry, which is good, with a light dusty yeast note, but the huskiness cuts through most of it - meh.

Tap at Vine Street - apparently their first attempt at using Orval yeast, and I would say they did a great job - sadly, my glass was extremely murky, almost milky looking, so the high yeastiness may have muddled some of the brighter characteristics of the beer - however, this sucker had some nice complexity, regardless - very dry - loads of spicy and herbal notes (sage, white pepper), moderate citrus (lemon peel, grapefruit) and a light funkiness - would love to try this a year fro now to see if the earthy/funky notes develop more, but even now this is a winner.

Tap @ Southern Sun. Called Trickster Black IPA on the menu but it really does taste more like a stout. Deep brown appearance with a dark brown head. Roasty chocolate malty, earthy, light coffee, a little burnt aroma. Fairly roasty, light caramel, chocolate, earthy, char flavor. Bleh.

Tap at vine street - light gold with a small amount of haze - nose of honeyed maltiness, moderate tropical fruit notes, a touch of dusty yeast and minerals - carbonation is full but creamy - body is fairly firm - sweet honey and candi sugar up front, followed by tropical fruit esters of apricot and mango - dries out a bit through the finish, adding biscuity notes, a subdued earthiness, a touch of bubblegum and other phenols - finishing fairly spicy and warming (not from alcohol, but from the spiciness imparted by the yeast) - a little sweet, but for an American-made tripel, itβs pretty dope.

Tap at Vine Street - slick-looking, nearly headless dark brown - nose is of string char, black malt, dark chocolate - a bit acidic up front, which adds on odd fruity dimension up against the strong char, burnt cocoa, licorice and chocolate - a bit thick in the mouth - medium bitter and strongly roasty finish - okay - needs some work.

Tap at Vine Street - pretty sharp and rough around the edges for a pils - starts off with sweet but relatively clean maltiness, followed by some rougher, more husky malt tones, light mineral - this is followed by some pretty potent hop bitterness - when first served, this character melded decently with the mineral note, but after a warming for a few minutes, it became a little abrasive - not terrible, but I was hoping for a lot more.

Tap @ Vine Street. Dark reddish brown appearance with a small, tan head. Really potent boozy, somewhat fruity, spicy rum, dark candy aroma. Incredibly potent, rum boozy, sharp alcohol, light fruity, harsh flavor. I had trouble drinking this one.
