500ml bottle - Pours dark brown though actually kind of light for a porter. It has a big, fluffy, fading head. The aroma is roast malts with some milk chocolate notes. It tastes of roast malt and quite a bit of chocolate. The body is medium at best. I was expecting something a little heavier. It’s a fairly good beer, but no more.

Half-liter import bottle. Time again to pick on a cheap foreign lager. Today’s beer comes to us all the way from Lithuania, but there’s a reasonable chance I picked it up relatively fresh. In a tall lager glass, it pours a big stiff white head over a slightly hazy pale body. Decent "beer" smell, though with a little oxidation. Taste has some light, toasty pils malts to it, but also a bit of "processing" that comes from adjunct. No noticeable hops involved, save for the slight "hay" other raters have suggested. At least it’s not overloaded with sugar, unlike the Solodov I just had. Malts match to pretty clean water. Okay on a hot day like today. Purchased at Sam’s Wines, Downers Grove.

[bottle] Brown colour. Frothy head. Aroma is sweet toffee and liquorice. Smooth and sweet flavour. Some roastiness and hints of liquorice. Some alcohol in the finish. Tastes more like a Bock than a Porter.

Big white head. Yellow body with some carbonation. Light apple-and-rubber aroma with mealy malt background. Light rubbery malt taste with mealy apple notes and some paper. Chalky notes. Dry, rubbery aftertaste. Typical eastern European lager, but not the best. (0.5l bottle.)

A hazy dark brown porter with a thick moka head, and dark floaties. A sweet chocolate malt with fruity notes, figs, and light alcohol. In mouth, a rich and smooth sweet chocolate, amaretto nuttyness, caramel, glosette raisins, and warming alcohol in finale. A rich bodied porter from this Lithuanian brewery. Bought at BOTW, Spring 2006.

Big creamy offwhite head with a rash of larger bubbles in the middle. Dark red, translucent body, rather like red wine. Sweetish, faintly earthy, milky caramel aroma with lightly grassy hop aroma. Harmonic. Sweet chocolatey licorice taste with milky cinnamon notes. Bitterish aftertaste with grassy notes. Extremely smooth, but a bit cloying. Quite nice. (0.5l bottle.)
