Pours dark amber with a large head.Nose shows masses of fruity hops and sweet malt. Big honey, melon and peach blossom notes. Incredibly sweet smelling.Similar sweet, malty flavours, lots more caramel and cookie dough along with resinous, piny hops. A spicy/grassy noble character shows later, especially in the bold, sharp bitterness. Unfortunately that bitterness has an unpleasant, harsh metallic note to it.Could use carbonation.Seems to me like stella hops are great for aroma, but not so much for bittering....

Growler. Gold with a modest white head. Aroma of passionfruit and grapefruit, light biscuit, some window-cleaner. Taste is full of fruits - passionfruit, melon with quite sharp grapefruit bitterness. Some white pepper at the end. Not really reminiscent of noble hops but somewhat restrained fruit salad character. Clinical but lovely hopshow. [3.7] A bit less vibrant in the bottle, but only -0.1.

Growler. Black with a large tan head. Aroma of pears, tart apples mocha, pepper, vanilla. Taste is barely sweet with cocoa, coffee, pepper, pears, oranges, a little banana. Finish is a little roasty with some coffee and spices. If Black Saison is a thing, I guess this is one and not a porter. Quite interesting and pretty good. Very quaffable at 6.5%.

Pours black ruby with a large tan head.Nose shows cocoa, roasted malt, piney hops and a tangy citrus character.Big roasty flavours up front, with lots of espresso, before transistioning to that tangy citrus and light fruit. Soft alcohol also shows.Pretty high carbonation.That acidic, tangy, citric character is obviously out of place, but otherwise good stuff.

From a 330ml bottle on 12/7/2011. Pours a slightly cloudy golden, with a big head. Has a nice fruity aroma (esp passionfruit) with some yeast and bubblegum notes. Flavour wise, it’s a little less involving - just a bit of fairly non-descript fruity sweetness, followed by a quite decent hop kick. Not a bad drop.

From 330ml bottle on 10/7/2011. Pours a red amber colour with almost no head. Has a modest aroma of caramel, toffee and fruit. Taste wise, it exhibits the same characters. Quite sweet with just enough hops to provide balance. Passable but far from remarkable.

Bottle, 11C. Dull copper with a coat of light beige head. Aroma of sherry, nutmeg, cinnamon, cherry vinegar. Taste has light fruit sweetness with some aged caramel and chocolate, big woody spices. Cinnamon, nutmeg and aniseed quite prominent and not all that well integrated. Finish is mildly astringent with spices. The flavours are OK but somehow don’t come together.

Tap at Biero. Pours black with a large head.Nose shows loads of toasty malt with some banana in the background. Too toasty.Favours mirror the aroma almost perfectly: toasty, bready malt and banana. Finishes abruptly. Again, too toasty.Body seems light, almost watery.

Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of honey, malt, and caramel. The flavor is very sweet with notes of spices, malt, caramel, and honey, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

The body has an average strength; the flavor is more beery that else; caramel flavor, with moderate residual sweetness, and a herbal and vegetable touch; no apparent honey. Correct bitterness, for a beer. I can’t see the purpose.
