Bottle @ ZEBF 2015. A typical solid BA barley wine. Aroma and taste of raisin, malt, caramel, ripe fruit, whiskey booze and vanilla. Good stuff, but not very outstanding.

Bottle sampled at ZEBF ’15. Pours clear reddish brown with a ring tan head. Aroma of toffee, dough, overripe dark fruit and caramel. Flavour is light heavy sweet and light moderate bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Sampled from the tap at the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest. Pours a clear gold with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a nice bitter citrus with grapefruit and a light grain backing. Flavor has a nice bitter citrus grapefruit start with a light grain and light citrus finish.

Pours a clear, golden-yellow, with fairly thick, white head. Aroma is very floral, with citrus and tropical fruit smells standing out. Flavor is very dry, with pronounced hop bite and very bitter finish. Kind of reminds me of the Sierra Nevada IPA brewed with hop oil. Could use a bit more balance, some malt sweetness to level things out, but it is a very good DIPA.

Sampled from the Firkin at Happy Gnome Firkin Fest 2015. Pours black with a large creamy dark brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma is full of coffee and dark grains with a touch of roasted malts. Flavor is full of coffee as well with dark grains and roasted malts with a slight bitterness.

On tap at Republic 7C. Pours a clear gold with an orange hue and a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has a decent amount of bitter citrus and grapefruit with a hint of onion and backing sweet grains. Aroma has grapefruit and resin throughout with a hint of bitter citrus and sweet grains.

From a 22 oz bottle. Aroma is very hop forward with a ton of grapefruit and some lighter pine. Light caramel malt and medium light pale malt. Some other citrus notes and a bit of dank resin. Pours a very clear copper orange with a good sized, fairly thick head that exhibits really nice retention and lacing as it slowly recedes. This might be the most clear IPA I have ever had. Medium small legs. Flavor is assertively hoppy with a nice grapefruit and pine character and quite a high bitterness. Some light pale malt notes with medium light caramel. I don’t normally like caramel malt in my IPAs, but it works when the hop character is so grapefruit and pine forward. Hints of alcohol in the finish. Some lingering bitterness, pine and grapefruit with hints of caramel. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice IPA in the more classic West Coast style, but not like the more modern, dry, fruity versions. Easy drinking and well made.

750ml bottle pours a very hazy orange with some lacing, sticky white head. Big, old school nose, lots of pine and pine sap, heavy orange, heavy soap, a little stale orange juice. Flavor follows suit, piney, soapy, orange, some honey, some mild herbs. Big, sticky, bitter finish. Old school DIPA.

Bottle from a locals for locals trade from Atom. Pours black color with brown head. Aromas of roasted malt and chocolate with a hint of coffee. Moderately roasted malt flavor with sweet milk chocolate and some coffee. Medium to full body with minimal carbonation. Thanks Adam.
