Pours a clear golden color, topped with a fairly decent white head. Some of it stays quite for some time. Sweet and malty aroma, quite mild, not much selse in there. The taste is rather sweet, watery. Some little bitterness in the end. Aftertaste is much too sweet.

Tasted on tap the 05/09/2014. Clear golden colour with a decent white head. Aroma is watery with cereals and malts. Taste is indecent. Not a good lager. Next one please!

Spanish interpretation of Münchener Dunkel with very stable, yellowish, beige, regular head and clear, very dark burgundy colour. Malt sweetness in the nose, a bit stout-like too, chocolate, coffee, cinnamon, dried leaves, iron. Rounded, smooth, bit oily palate, sufficient body, sweet malts (nuts, caramel, chocolate), bit metallic, finish somewhat thin but with roasted bitterness and spicy hops. Actually quite good, though closer to a Schwarzbier than to a real Dunkel.

Estrella’s competitor on the Spanish bland standard lager market. Creamy, equal, snow whit head, pale golden blonde colour with somewhat greenish hue, cristal clear, nice sparkling. Aroma sweaty and lightstruck, wort, grass, parsley, iron. Neutral taste with medium carbonation, bit metallic, worty pale malts, watery mouthfeel, dry, bit bready finish with grassy hops, medium long. A bit more taste than Estrella Damm but whether this taste is actually better... I doubt it.

A very fine lager with a large head that sticks around and foggy body. Aroma is of lemon and a hint of malty hazelnut. Nice pronounced flavour of citrus, nuts, and malts. One of the better lagers out there.

--- Beer merged from original tick of Mahou Clásica on 25 May 2018 at 11:03 - Score: 4

What I like about this compared to your average bottled lager is it’s got a slightly earthier taste to it. It’s relatively average otherwise but I like that about it.
