Description
In May 1867, the Leinenkugel family brewery was founded in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin by Jacob Leinenkugel. He was a family man driven by an iron work ethic, and he knew that his German family heritage would play an integral part of his brewery’s success. Today, the sixth generation of Leinenkugels continues to brew some of the same family-inspired recipes that Jacob poured his heart and soul into. Over the years, our family has grown and so has our brewery, but our history and heritage remain at the forefront.

(bottle- Indiana brewers fest) red copper beer. Cardboard aroma and unpleasant oxidized taste. Mediocre at best.

This one at least sounded appetizing. Unfortunately the beer within did not measure up. +++Sampled from a 12 oz bottle the beer poured a thin black color with a small tan head. There was a sour skunky scent and an odor reminiscent of rotting vegetables. The flavor was dry malt, mild hops and a slightly skunky aftertaste. Pretty blah but barely drinkable.

This is sweet almost wine cooler sweet. I am surpirsed it is a beer. It is a lot more juice sweet than any lambic or fruit beer i have ever tried before. Its good for desert i guess and for your none beer drinking friends. I wont be buying it again however.

Interesting aroma of honey, lemon, minty wheat, grassy hops and sweet malt - all that yet still a very mild aroma. Roundly sweet palate but disappears in the middle leading to a near unbalanced hoppy finish. Bright gold, no head.

I have been aware of this brewery since I was a child due to some of their paraphernalia in my father’s bar. This was the first chance that I had to actually try the beer - so I had been curious for quite some time. +++Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle the beer poured a nice red-amber color with a small tan head. The aroma while faint was pleasantly malty. The flavor was crisp and light with definite malty undertones. There was a bit of an off sour tang on the aftertaste. It was a little yeasty and bready. Not bad really. A decent quaffable red.

Clear light yellow with a foamy white head. slightly grassy and lemony smell. light malts but almost no hops, with the honey coming out in aftertaste. light to medium. OK considering its a miller.

2004 draft. Clear light yellow pour, small white head. Little to no aroma. What there is, has some soap, a bit of bitterness and maybe a squirt of lemon. Flavor is mildly sour, hint of lemon, no esters, banana, clove. Just a mildly sour, bland wheat flavor, with plenty of carbonation. Not fresh tasting, and more soapiness on the finish. At least it’s not too sweet.

This beer has a decent amber color, but an average smell. The tatse leaves me wanting more: much more. It's very ordinary and plain. I wouldn't care to buy this beer again, not because it's awful, but because there's nothing special about it at all.

Hey, this wasn't so bad! Cereal aroma and flavor rules the day. Some sweetness and malt tang evident in the flavor. Red body with an off-white head. Little praise, little criticism.
