Description
In May 1867, the Leinenkugel family brewery was founded in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin by Jacob Leinenkugel. He was a family man driven by an iron work ethic, and he knew that his German family heritage would play an integral part of his brewery’s success. Today, the sixth generation of Leinenkugels continues to brew some of the same family-inspired recipes that Jacob poured his heart and soul into. Over the years, our family has grown and so has our brewery, but our history and heritage remain at the forefront.

Bottle: Dark brown, with a short, creamy, pinkish/tan head. Chocolate/dark berry, cola aroma. Taste is roasty chocolate malt, sweet.....lightly smoky caramel malt, dark fruit. Light....but pretty tasty.

12 oz bottle from the fall variety pack. Expired five days ago. Strong notes of maple in the nose, along with some dark bread crust, cola, dark fruits. Pours clear amber with a decent beige head. Taste starts out lightly sweet and finishes faintly bitter and dry. Flavor notes of maple, raisin, plum, dark bread crust. Body’s kind of thin and watery/bordering on creamy. Not too bad. Wouldn’t seek out again, though.

Pours a nice light amber from a bottle. Tropical fruit aroma shines out, similar flavor, refreshing and a crowd pleaser. Good beer.

A nice pumpkin spice aroma and flavor, I doubt there’s any pumpkin at all in here, but this is still nicely spiced and balanced. Good beer.

Pours a dark brown from a bottle. Smells and tastes like fake maple candy, like that last one in a Whitman sampler. Blech.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 12/5/2016. Pours fairly crystal clear medium golden yellow color with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of honey, wheat, cracker, and biscuit; with lighter notes of lemon, banana, bubblegum, pepper, clove, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of honey, pale malt, and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste honey, wheat, cracker, and biscuit; with lighter notes of lemon, banana, bubblegum, pepper, clove, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Light herbal bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of honey, wheat, cracker, biscuit, light banana/clove, and herbal yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of honey, pale malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness as well. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, and moderately creamy/grainy mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is a nice pale wheat ale. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of honey, pale malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Clear cherry cola color with a khaki head and decent retention. Spotty lacing. Sweet maple-forward flavor with a light smokey base. Smooth. Medium mouthfeel. Low carbonation. Poundable. 5.8 ABV is well hidden. Not as smokey as I like my dunkels, but really good.
